Dubtron2 is the successor to the original Dubtron bass synth, taking it's modulation-based concept into new territory, exploring quirky analogue basses, modern rhythmic soundscapes, chilly dub techno and experimental ambient textures. Dubtron2 uses beat-driven modulation and sub-rhythms along with randomization to bring about interesting rhythmic sounds and atmospheres. This along with it's serial filter system, a feedback-looping dub delay and a "Phonec-style" Melt feature makes Dubtron2 a extremely versatile instrument with a unique approach to sonic exploration. Here is a brief overview of it's key features:
  • Dual oscillators with Unison and Pulse Width
    Sub oscillator with FM capabilities
Dual Filter system with serial routing
    Soft clipping / Distortion
A unique Melt feature that adds instant character to any patch
3 Polyphonic LFOs with BPM 'speed dials' and randomization
Sub LFOs for creating parallel rhythm offsets
    3 assignable Modulation Envelopes
Dub Delay Unit with feedback looping
Multiple targets for modweheel and pitchbender
    Universal Value Display
    Double Click Parameter Reset
    128 presets

Dubtron2 is available for $39 as a Windows 32-bit VST plugin.

Static settings on the melt?

Not necessarily a deal-breaker, but just wondering as I like the option to fiddle with the settings on Phonec...

Will be demoing this tonight either way!
Q. Why is a mouse when it spins?
A. The higher the fewer.

Yeah, since Melt isn't a main feature, it's just one knob, but I think it's the perfect balance of imperfection. It is a different Melt sound compared to Phonec also. It does destabilize the pitch, but you also get subtle jumps in distortion with some slight filter movements as well. I think you'll like the sound of it.

The demo sounds very good, reminds me of the soundtracks of old 1970's b-movies.

Great sounding demo track. :tu:

Always interesting to see what you manage to get out of SE :) Compare that to the bland stuff many programmers produce :P

But I am not sure I will get this one, I already have Phonec and Construct and don't think this one offers something new I need, I guess I am not experimental enough for it  The sound as such seems very much like Phonec's...
Then again, I will test it anyway because of the double filter and unison, want to hear how that sounds :)

How many instanced did you use for the demo?

The buttons look a bit odd, as if they were cut off at the bottom.

Having fun with it. Bought.

Definitely more than a dub wobble gizmo, as I'm not interested in that so wouldn't have bothered if it was. Feels more like dubphonec to me (possibly due to the consistent gui)
:)

Is that intro price, or the regular price?

I've shared the news on my blog: http://microloops.blogspot.ca/2014/03/p ... tron2.html

It's on my buy list as it's spot on the kind of sound I'm interested in these days. I'm into old b-movies soundtracks from the '70 and early '80.

the guy who made that GUI is talented as a graphic artist..im guessing its a SE/SM

u should sent your art to Native-instruements or something like that

Thanks!

I'm sure Dubtron2 will fit that sound quite nicely :)
