I know that everyone is waiting for Sonik Synth 2, but I can't wait for studiophonik, I'm have high hopes for this instrument. It sounds like it may be a one stop shop for my jazz-like tracks. I go over my boys house and he has triolgy and it uses some technique that has key switching. The electric bass sounds like a real bass player, All have to do is take out my Trumpet, muted sometimes or unmuted and we instantly have a track going I'm hoping that the basses in Studiophonik have these technique, or something like it. I'm hoping these instruments sound real, he paid 340 for triolgy by itself if I can get all these real sounding instruments in one package that would be a great value. My friend is anticpating Studiophonik but he thinks I will probaly

Unlike Trilogy, Studiophonik also has amps, cabinets and fx which is nice. Then of course there are tons of drums, guitars and keys in there too.

My favorite sound in Trilogy is probably the Upright Bass. It's really cool. But, there are certain nuances and note-offs that come up almost too much to the point where I have trouble controlling it. Anyway, all of Eric's products are very good. So, I wouldn't blame you for getting it.

In terms of bang for the buck, for not much more you can have "the whole band" with Studiophonik. You get a variety of articulations as well plus a ton of other things that no other module has.

On the other side of the spectrum (npi) you could get the new BASS CAPSULE which has some excellent basses and the price is really great (ie. less than a hundred bucks). This should be shipping in a week or so. We'll have demos up for it very soon. It has a wonderful uppright on it (very warm and beautiful... there are a few actually) and some killer Fretless basses I sampled with Jason Scheff from Chicago (it was a 5 string Lakeland). Plus there is a good Jaco style bass and other stuff that would be very usable for jazz and rock.

Anyway, all of the above are good products so take your pick.

I hope the electric basses will have that keyswitching technique that triolgy has, I need the electric basses to sound real.

Are you sure it has key switching? Please describe. Key switching is when you have keys that make no sound and switch performance aspects of the sound that is playable on the other keys or sitching out different sets of multisamples on the fly. I have to check but I didn't think the UVI engine that Trilogy uses had that feature. Are you sure? Maybe you're talking about something else?

Anyway, we'll have some unique expressive perfomance features for realism. I'll discuss in more detail when it is closer to release.

Okay I just called my buddy he says it's called Staccato, he can make some very convincing bass tracks with trilogy, I'm hoping all the instruments in studiophonik will be convincing, but definitley the bass
