Sometimes when I switch audio aplications, like going from my sequencer to listening to net radio, i get crackling and staticky sound.
If I reboot the computer and then restart the noisy applicayion everything will be alright.
Is there any way to fix this problem other than re-booting?
I'm on a laptop using win98 and the built-in audio.

When you hear clicks in the audio, it's that the buffers are underflowed. On Windows, whenever you lauche something and close it, it will not free everything correctly. Some dll would still be loaded, so taking RAM and CPU. That's even more correct with W98.
So when you say that a reboot solved your clicks problem, you had your answer.
