Watched that yesterday - it's not really much of a documentary though, just a playlist with a few text comments. Mostly good stuff although I would have replaced the dreadful Vienna with one of Ultravox's earlier numbers (My Sex) and kicked Howard Jones off completely.nasenmann wrote:Thank you! He is in it unfortunately - the only parts I fast forwarded were that and the Pet Shop BoysNumanoid wrote:I just don't get why New Order is in that while pure synth acts like Howard Jones isn't?DuX wrote:My favourite one. I watch it from time to time, or parts of it, for inspiration.

I'm in a hurry so this will be a sloppy list.
- The Devil & Daniel Johnston
- A Band Called Death
- Theremin: An Electric Odyssey
- Who's Harry Nilsson (and why's everybody talking about him?)
- When You're Strange (The Doors doc)
There are a bunch of others I can't remember right now, bah!

I seem to recall that Howard Jones was in that. He represented "the beginning of the end", showing a clip of the video for "New Song" with him dancing around with a mime. I thought that was a particularly unwarranted cheap shot, but maybe that's just me...Numanoid wrote:I just don't get why New Order is in that while pure synth acts like Howard Jones isn't?DuX wrote:My favourite one. When it comes to the New Wave period and early 80's music it seems like New Order/Joy Division is like ketchup for journalists, it must be poured over everything

'The Wrecking Crew'. Apparently there was only one actual band playing in the 60's. Very enlightening.
