Yeah, with LFOs at least so I'm assuming audio mod. You nest the second lfo in the first, and then nest the fx in the second lfo. So the instrument is still nested in the first except down another level, like a nested group or something.

Cool, thanks. I've been wondering this whole time why they made an lfo device but no envelope device. Seems like it would be the exact same concept, both devices receive midi and send modulation. I find envelopes much more useful in sound design so I don't get why they would do only lfo.Ogopogo wrote:Yeah, with LFOs at least so I'm assuming audio mod. I'd love to replace the envelopes and loo's in most of my synth plug-ins, using Bitwig devices instead so they can work with the unified modulation system. Then synths would basically just be for the sound sources.
I think the first thing I'd build in V2 when it's opened up is a generic "Modulator" device with something like three envelopes, three LFOs, and mod sources for the usual stuff like velocity, aftertouch, mod wheel etc. Then load any plug-in in that and you have a full suite of modulation in the Bitwig system. And it will work well with Bitwigs control surface support. Select the modulation source and then apply to the plug-in parameters like they do for the Bitwig polysynth and other devices.

You (well Thomas) just decided to control another thing, is just us, if we use it, that give up on controlling

Maybe because they could only make it mono instead of per voice so it would seem incomplete? Dunno, just a guess. Cool plug idea though.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Cool, thanks. I did not follow this thread (only lurked by from time to time for a look at the cat pics). Is there any significant feature, despite the Linux version and the gentler GUI, that lets you switch over from Live to Bitwig ? Histogram velocities I would not call a significant feature. (coming from a user, that thinks Reaper is the mightiest DAW, but Live is the shizzle as a toy in order to kill time and make redundant, but trendy music).

Go back a page or two to the pros and cons list.KoolFartWind wrote:I did not follow this thread (only lurked by from time to time for a look at the cat pics). Yea, it clearly reveals there are people in this thread bitching Live lacks blah blah, Live behaves blah blah don't even "use" Live at all. Have no intention to point specific person though. Fanboyism is real.pdxindy wrote: You can configure it in Live in preferences...

No.
A lot of people don't understand.
This is going to be disruptive technology.
If this can be made to work and work well in Linux, even if we do have a particular intall/distro forced upon us, it will be world changing.
I will buy this if it works on linux.

I don't think so. If you look out the screenshots of the sampler and polysynth you can see that they each have 3 lfos and one of them is a "plfo" so I'm assuming that's for "poly lfo"/per voice lfo. The lfo device doesn't have an plfos.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Oh is the lfo not per voice? aahhhh.....

You have other options in Linux with much better value for the money.
Thanks for the Pro/Con - list.
- No midi routing between tracks
So it's not a DAW...
