:hihi: A marshall amp? A real live one you can touch and set an astray on? Your JCM-900 plug is going to be .

How 'bout this eq on the acoustic:
300-600 hz, +2db (for body)
3-6kHz, -4db (to kill the sm58 presence peak)
7.5khz, +3db (for sparkle... I dunno why, but there's a big gap here in the sm58 curve)

I took a look at the frequency response graphs, and that's pretty much the difference between an sm58 and a small cap condenser mic... though really what you need depends on how you set things up when recording. But anyway, it's something to try until the mic fairy arrives.

Aye, I think I got close to couple a couple of those eq settings by trial and error. The 7.5k one is probably to de-emphasise (niiiceee) sibilance I would imagine.

I remember this tune from a while ago :)

Reckon my Real Guitar would sound more realistic though

Often the guitar is way too loud for the voice, which deserves more space with a melody like this.

With such a beautiful song I'd invite Markleford or someone with good mix skills to partner the production.

But isn't it a good tune ... too good for Barnsley

Why not rename it Euro 2004

I was thinking more as a requiem for Croatia or summat.

Yeah ... call it Croatia, not Barnsley, and all the ultra-inclusive lefties will love you
