I didn't know about that. But it's not in the timeline any more in Sonar, why is that?

Can anybody tell a bit about the sampler workflow?

in specific:
- can you record samples directly to it? or are you supposed to drag&drop them from your audio files list?
- can any (destructive) audio operations be performed on the sample? (cut/copy/paste selections, fade in/out, normalize, etc)

Thx!
I think you need to do that kind of stuff as audio first. It's a sample player not an editor.

And these operations have to be performed in one of the audio tracks instead? Or is there a separate editor that allows editing of files in the 'audio repository'?

Was it ever in the timeline in Sonar? I thought it had always been a floating window.

If it was there in Sonar at one point, you'd be better off asking a CW developer why it isnt any longer. Not that that's got much to do with Project5 have it nearly a decade ago, though. I'd hazard a guess and say that its to do with being able to assign any Matrix row to any track, including multiple rows feeding a single track. More flexible that way.

I didn't phrase that clearly, I didn't meant to imply it was ever in Sonar.

Ah. To pointlessly reiterate then, in Sonar its a separate window, with each Matrix row assignable to any track.

Do you think the sales guy and his manager had a talk after this sale? Or do you think Sam Ash in Atlanta was given special permission to sell that software ahead of the 26th?

I don't think so. If you look out the screenshots of the sampler and polysynth you can see that they each have 3 lfos and one of them is a "plfo" so I'm assuming that's for "poly lfo"/per voice lfo. The lfo device doesn't have an plfos.

Oh is that what plfo is? I figured it was pitch lfo.

Hi,

After doing a "split on onsets", is it possible to drag 'n drop a piece of audio into the drum rack ? (kind of Audio to Midi).

What I'll really miss in version 1 :
- Key mapping, 'coz we all have a keyboard, and wireless kb (mac) are perfect remotes.

Features I thought they would be in version 1 :
- External instrument device with audio delay (latency) compensation.
- Instrument rack with splits & crossfades

Features I'd like to see in version 2, when the modular side is opened :
- Video
- Comping

I hope that version 2 can be released some time around this summer ( that's march 2015, kidding ;) )

Cheers,
B.

"Polyphonic LFO", yes ;-)

And yeah, as cool as the vision of using external modulation would be, AFAIK no VST allows access to per-voice parameter modulation. My guess would be, that it's not even in the standard so far, so you would need to go through Poly AT or special SysEx like BWS does now for Per-Note-Pitch (which is rather awesome BTW).

I think having an envelope modulation device would be cool, even if it's mono, although I guess you could already fake it with the audio follower reacting to very short impulses you send from another track? I also like the "Ladder" filter device that comes with it's own Envelope, LFO etc. Sounds awesome too.

Cheers,

Tom

ahh... i saw that mentioned in the latest beta notes:
NEW: Send note expressions to VSTs using GM2 spec (CA23 and SINGLE NOTE TUNING CHANGE, VST needs to canDo "receiveVstSysexEvent")
um.. what the eff does it mean? :)
