There IS a demo for Linux ;-)

Cheers,

Hm, all I could find is a debian package.
AFAIK Debian is one flavour of Linux? ;-)

The officially supported Distribution is Ubuntu 12.04.
I have it running nicely on Ubuntu Studio 12.04 here.
For other Distros I guess you are on your own, like Andy said above...

Cheers,

Tom

Edit: Just saw your reply: You may have heard: Bitwig is not OpenSource. ;-)

Works well for me on OSX, just in my initial play with it.

Yeah, my fault. Then IMHO it would be appropriate to change the designation of the supported OS to : OSX, Windows and Debian ;)

Or why not use source encryption ? I am sure, Linux users would pay for the support and not for the source...

3rd party plugins steal spacebar focus here...

Quite a unique concept that basically frees you from thinking about it ;-)

Isn't this basically the same kind of bunk that IL tried to push as "Good enough for X64" before they just did what they should have and ported to X64 ?
No, it's different since it was created that way from the get go as I understand it. The GUI (ATM 32 Bit on Windows) is separate from the Audio Engine (32 or 64 Bit depending on the system) and the Plugin Hosts are again separate from the Audio Engine and can be both 32 and 64 Bit on demand to provide for both kinds of plugins.

Claes, please correct me if I'm wrong. ;-)

Tom
That's the way FL 32bit was working. Host was working on 32 bit and plugin was hosted by 64 bit wrapper which has sandbox.

Thanks but it didn't help. Got Openstream failed thing.

One User reported that he solved it with running Bitwig as Admin. Might be worth a try.

Loving the demo, but the lack of right-click/re-click to delete (Unless I'm missing something) notes already bothers me.

But that's not what he described. He described a 32-bit UI controlling a 64-bit audio engine, plus hosting via separate sandboxed 64-bit processes.

First thing I noticed was that every sound was making god awful distortion. Then I changed my buffer from 128 to 256 and it was fine. So I can't run at 128 on my Macbook Pro Built-in card? Wha?

Where's the on screen keyboard by the way. I can't figure out out to trigger some notes without having a midi keyboard attached.

I guess someone already mentioned it here but i found this:

Recently inside Live 9 64-bit i used Waldorf Attack (from waldorf edition 64-bit) with multiple channels to add effects to certain sounds like e.g. Bass drum and Snare.
In Bitwig using Attack with multiple outputs does not seem to work.
