Yes, you're quite right, and this is one of the reasons why putting the content from previous DVDs in the Vault isn't necessarily as straightforward as it might seem, unfortunately. For instance, some giveaways (such as Geist Lite/CM) were intended as a traditional one-off print magazine giveaway. A print magazine has a limited print run and limited shelf life, but a digital edition is potentially available forever, which is a very different proposition to the one originally agreed with the company.glokraw wrote:Previous contract deals would have to be re-negotiated. nice, and may still be advantagious to devs wanting more exposure.
But it would take time and effort from all parties involved, and
they should decide based on the prior results. Its a tough market.

Thanks for the info, I had no idea they offered it directly.Numanoid wrote:If Geist Lite can be of your interest have a look at the FXPansion website directlyjc_vt wrote:When I got my first digital edition I was disappointed that Geist CM was not included in the vault material.

But any chance that content for CMplay will be made available again? That would be great in caseLee CM wrote: Yes, you're quite right, and this is one of the reasons why putting the content from previous DVDs in the Vault isn't necessarily as straightforward as it might seem, unfortunately
I only started buying CM during 2011, and I understand there was much tailor made sample content for CMplay available on the CM discs from 2008 and the next couple of years.
Wusik CM is another programme I would like to see resurface in the CM studio

Just a bump for this thread
The latst issue of CM carries a bonus sample video game lib. This includes multi samples in the tcp format, which can be read by CMPlay:

CMPlay used to be included in the CM Studio, but I think it fell out when CM re-vamped it a year ago or so.
So if CMPlay is no longer included in the CM Studio, how do newbies get to load the tcp patches?

Indeed, I've suggested to Lee some sort of cmPlay to sfz converter, but, of course, that would not convert the cmPlay effects.
The only option is to load the samples, into TX16Wx for example and DIY. Or get an old cm DVD (cm 163 or earlier) or persuade Lee to make cmPlay downloadable or put it on the DVD (it's about 6MB)
In the last few months there have been cmPlay instruments for:

CMPlay got retired when Alchemy Player was introduced.
But CMPlay got advantages over AP in that in CMPlay one can stack patches! Load up to 16 patches and play them all on the same midi channel, for some huge sounds
With the flexible mod matrix, and FX section, I just don't think CMPlay is ready for retirement yet.
No doubt one of the plugs that deserves to make a come back.

Oh there have been so many that I do like and use, The kit goes from strength to strength. I still use most of the 'retired' processors, effects and instruments myself
CMPlay was cool at first but it had an issue that made me personally ditch it quickly, Not because I didn't like it or find it a pleasure to use, It was having to put/keep/maintain all the samples that go with the tcp files inside the directory where the .dll was...It soon got out of hand for me at least personally
That said I can understand why users would want access to it for either use fulltime or as a legacy inclusion so that they are able to load up the bonus sample content which has been re-released on newer cover mount discs/DLC from the vault to enable them to load up the patches then pull up their sample playback/ROMpler of choice up alongside it to reprogram the patches to either the way Cyclick, Groove Criminals and Hattrix originally programmed them or as a reference to do similar but to the way they like them personally then save to their format of choice and bob's your uncle
As DarkStar mentioned a .tcp to .sfz converter would be IMveryhumbleHO a superb solution and work out best for all users
That is just my 2 pence FWIW
Everyone is in for a treat with LVC-Audio Transector CM, Of that I am 100% certain. Awesome team up for both parties and the CM studio user's
Cheers and look forwards to the future CM Studio additions...Who does not!?!

I too would like to see a .tcp to .sfz converter.
I'd also like to see the developers figure out how to map .sfz files right, though. Lately I have run into a few sets where all the sounds are mapped onto the lowest octave on my 61 key keyboard. Sometimes these are for high pitched sounds that should be well above middle C.

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Dave at Muon did post this in December 2013:
Muon Software Ltd wrote:The samples are not embedded in the TCP files, they are separate. So you can just load them up in any sampler you wish.
The file formats are thoroughly documented but I can't imagine anyone easily being able to write a converter without a lot of help from me and unfortunately I have very limited time.
