Yes, turn on Caps Lock.

I didn't know that either, only found out today. Very useful (borrowed from Logic ...).

Scan Pro Audio (where i work) are proud to announce that we will be hosting the official UK launch webinar for the eagerly-awaited Bitwig Studio.

Not only will all the main features and workflow be explained, but Nektar's Tim Chandler will also show the almost total integration with their Panorama Range of controllers.

As always, there will be a mobile friendly chatroom for you to ask questions and there is DVR facility so you can pause and rewind the broadcast. The webinar will be in full HD, 1080p resolution and is viewable on almost every computer or mobile device.

If you have any particular questions or features you would like to see covered, please post them on our Facebook event page and we'll put them forward.

As with all of the Scan Webinars, UK and EU viewers should listen out for the codeword in the broadcast to get yourselves very special offers on Bitwig and Nektar kit!

ehh bugs left and right.

if i turn on the midi keyboard with CAPS lock i suddenly can't use shortcuts within the piano roll to duplicate and move notes anymore because it plays notes instead and notes get frozen and play endlessly. i use my laptop keyboard to work with midi efficiently and bitwig seems a step behind even ableton in that department.

WTF is Bitwig?

It's true there are lots of flashing lights in the gui. If I'm playing through a channel I'm actually seeing the meter dancing on the the channel it's self, in between each plug, in the inspector, on the master, and on the master in the transport. Plus there's the midi indicator in between each plug flashing too. I hope eventually we can do something about that.

I sure wish the demo noise was not there...

Congratulations on finally shipping v1.0. If only you guys could relax and take a vacation after all these years of hard work. Alas, now comes the endless grind of enhancing, bugfixing, tweaking, adding new features you never realized people wanted and planning for the future. :)

Unfortunately it completely locks you out of interacting with a VST GUI though. When you click the gui querty midi is gone. You need to click out of it. Some VSTs behave like this anyway in other DAWS (a few), but you could always trigger a note and then move a knob and the note would still play. But with bitwig you get the nasty "don't do that!" noise if you try that.

No vertical zoom? Are you kidding me?
How to find an ASIO Hardware setup, like E-mu internal ASIO control? ATM E-mu ASIO driver doing terrible clicks and cracks, what have I do to change latency settings from samples to milliseconds? Uh? I would like to use my own E-mu ASIO driver, not Bitwig's one please

Importing midi ignores tempo data

You cannot assign a parameter to a macro via the vst gui... that needs to be improved

So, no MIDI routing means plugins like iZotope Stutter Edit are unusable?

First real issue I've run into demoing it so far:

It seems with the pointer tool you can only enter notes that are the length of the current grid division, and then edit their length afterwards. With the pen tool you can control the length as you add the note, but then you can't control length afterward. This is much more inconvenient for me than the Live way of doing things were you can enter a note of whatever length you wish and also edit any note's length with the same main tool. Basically you can draw in or edit whatever you want without it being a two step process or having to constantly switch tools.

Is there a way to make it work like this?
