I had Jens and Mystahr staying at my house for the vurtstock event.

This is what we got up to the following night - all very tired, drunk and whatever.

This is not mastered, and not finished but it features a sample from the classic mini-vurt and putte duet.
mini-vurt on Speak and Spell, putte on beatbox and guitar.

I think we're gonna try and clean and tidy it up, or we may leave it as is cos this is where we got with it.
Rough as old boots, but here it is:

quite cool.. :D ... some of it sounds quite EDP waspish.. I reckon it needs some big drums, tho... Whats doing the electric piano at the end?

Glassback, do you want to know what glassback means in Dutch? :)

Thank you thank you thank you - I kept saying I can hear some big drums in it, but they wouldn't let me do it.
No, actually we had to finally go get some kip - it was like 4am or something and we'd had hardly any kip since... erm... hang on... nope, no good - we'd just had no kip. period.

Like I say, this is just as far as we got last night before giving in to our tired brains.
I may yet add those drums and / or tidy it up a bit.

The EP is EP73. :D
On top of that we used:
the audio sample of course,
EVE,
ninja-beta,
Free Alpha,
da Hornet,
and the drums are the Killer Kit.

Well, to me it means I've got a fkin dodgy back that gives in on me at a moments notice with no warning and lays me up completely for a week or two at a time - why what does it mean to you?

can't say i like the sound at the very beginning. honestly at 1:05, i was relieved when it stopped. please don't be mad  , just didn't like that sound. rest of the song was killer. excellent note selection. nooooooooooooo the sound is back at 2:20 :x

let me clarify though, the sound wasn't bad, just didn't fit into the song for me. it was soo nice and melodic without that sound. dammit i hate writing criticism

i'm still jealous as shit though that all you guys acutally got together (in person) to do this.

hi t-willy.

Well, that sound you don't like is the putte / mini-vurt duet sample.
Yeah, it's rough but that's cos it was recorded in a hurry on a mini-disc outside at vurts house.

We took a snippet from the whole thing and wrote the whole tune around that loop.
But like I say, it's not mastered or finished properly.
We just kind of left it as is cos we ran out of time / energy / braincells then kind of decided this morning to share what little we had.

Seems to me though, that over the next couple of days, I might have to add those Big Drums I kept hearing and mix it down a little better.

Don't you think that Speak n Spell thing sounds like a rawk guitar a bit though?
Or is that just the drugs making it sound like that?

Very nice live tune. To me the only thing missing is the sound of crowd noise in the background and a round of applause at the end. This has e very live feel to me and it might have been a real joy to hear all of your voices talking as you were making this, that would have brought all of us who were not there to enjoy the gathering as well. Sounded like you had a alot of fun. 8)

We had great fun. :D

I might try and work some of our voices into it too, if it works.
There's plenty of samples to choose from.
Crowd cheers?
Dunno, I'll see what I can do...

Thanks for the comments.
They give me ideas as to what it needs. :)
