Bufixes / Improvements:
There should'nt be a strict line between improvements and pure "technical" bugfixes.
In a perfect world this goes hand in hand, something we think is important and also shows in the framework.

At any rate, my version of Altiverb is older, version 6, and I often wonder (just out of curiosity really, nothing else) how developers actually deal with that, like if Altiverb 7.x, the current release version, works fine in the product but a user has an older version not working right and has no intention of upgrading, and development on that older version has halted.
I often wonder if they seek out older versions to install and test in those cases or mostly just test with the current release versions.
Melodyne is a completely different case though, I have the latest release version.

You can never please people, its like Katy Perry's song HotNCold
(yea I listen to Katy Perry)
Yes there is some features missing and yes there is some bugs. But it got released right? You got it now.
What did you expect for a Version 1.0 of software. The price can be argued as IMO it set a little high, but I bought it anyway, because I really see potential in it and wanted to support the Bitwig devs. For those that keep whining, wait for v2 or v3 you will be better off. For a version 1.0 I think it really stands strong.
And I love the Bitwig Team getting involved in the forums/fb, as a customer I love that (I really hope this goes on), unlike many other companies (Abl...). And they are pretty quick with bug fixing things already on 1.03 and upcoming 1.04
Oh well, this is the interwebs, it never learns.
Back to making music with my new toy

I tried the demo and I liked the whole User Interface and the workflow very very much. When it comes to these aspects, it's probably the best DAW out there (I have worked with all of them before, from Cubase to Reason to Ableton Live).
Also, I love that it has got all the essential effects and instruments already included, the Sampler is great and has all the basics a sample-based producer needs, the Synth sounds great. All of the included fx + instruments are really useful and well thought out. Actually one can use Bitwig "standalone", meaning without any additional effects or instruments.
Unfortunately I had the expericence of getting into a "blue screen" while using it = crashing, which very seldom happens on my PC. Since this event, I was hesitant to try it again, to be honest. I think it was caused while using one of my most frequently used VSTs: the great Sforzando (free SFZ player).
While it's the right of Bitwigs to determine the price for their product, I would have expected it to be a bit lower, especially in the beginning. I don't know much about the business rules of determing a price, but maybe they wanted to make it clear right from the start, that they created a valuable piece of Software.
In conclusion: if they are able to solve these early stability issues and fix these initial bugs (I'm sure they will) and further upgrade the featureset in the upcoming versions, I might be a future customer of Bitwig.
