I don't really get the fascination with who uses what gear. I mean, there is so much great gear out there to choose from, does it really matter? And then take Prodigy or NIN for example, with every single bit of kit under the sun... for the most part its difficult to identify any particular instrument in their musical output, so really, who cares? The only exception to me would be if an artist always used one specific instrument which defines their sound.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Post

also deastman, even if we had the exact same gear in the exact same space would we sound the same as artist a or b?

(there should be a smiley for that)

All artists use whatever they get their hands on and might be useful in some way. There's no exception to that rule. But maybe you have to be over 40 to realise that

Most of the Prodigy's early classic toones where built using:

Roland W-30 Sampling Workstation (x5, means he had/has five of 'em)

Just goes to show that gearwise less is usually more :tu:

when i get my arse into gear and arrange this gig im planning, im thinking of handing out wobble boards, kazzoos and other such nose makes to anyone who turns up. to join in as they see fit, basically to make it a collective noise experience :)
