I got so used to the pointer tool in Live that for me it is easier to just use it. Double click, note in, double click, note out. Works the same in Bitwig, except I can't seem to designate note size. Everything goes in as a 16th note. No biggie....stretch to fit, shrink to fit, as needed.

Haven't read the manual yet to see if I can change this. :hihi: But I'm sure it's in there. ;)

I'm sure the multiple cursors will be usable to many but I don't see a point to have to change the tool to do something that can easily be done with the pointer.

I find it more intuitive to right click and select a tool or macro or what have you.

But, I will say, it's all in what one gets used to. Likely, once I get used to the Bitwig way I may find it better. Who knows? :D

Any way you go there are many streets to get to the ballpark. You just have to find the one that most suits you and has the fewest pot holes. :)

Well I'm glad that's being addressed. Being a heavy piano roll wanker, I can't give it an honest go until this feature is implemented.

What's up with this?...!

The manual just came out 6 days ago.....along with the product.

The feature being discussed has not even been implemented....so how can it be in the manual?

geeze....

I'm with ya. I don't like this "refreshingly" new CS technique.

Thanks hibidy. For a moment I thought I was being too sensitive.

It's not bad imo, the refreshing honesty that curbs unnecessary nonsense, FL style. :)

However, I do think in that particular case it was pointed at the wrong target. :hihi: DSans question was a simple misunderstanding, not really nonsense.

Chalk it up (maybe) to a long day of reading here and eventually cracking a little. :hihi:

I doubt there was any offense meant by it...

seemed like a lighthearted rtfm to me. :)

It's not the first post I've noticed though. Anyways, bitwig, have fun with it you guys, it's time to put the breaks on for a while anyways. I'm not going to get bitwig even if it's the shizzle anytime in the near future so I'll leave you with this:

What he was saying was ... "The on / off switch is already there, we just need to make it do more when it's switched on." :hihi:

What DSan asked, if it would be switchable when they add the other part, is what we old military guys call a "harmless brain fart", something he'd probably even have chuckled about himself once he thought about it for a few seconds. ;)

I'll be honest

as long as people keep posting cat pics, I can't take anything Bitwig-related seriously. :hihi:

Before I leave this thread and BWS alone for good, one final comment.

I have no intention of buying Bitwig Studio. What it does best isn't targeted towards anything I actually do or even need to do, so even though I can clearly see the vision, I have no particular practical use for it. Most of my non-linear needs (which are very few) are covered by FLS Fruity Edition, so I'm all good there.

Having said that ...

This app - imo, mmv as usual - has one of the nicest general UI designs I've ever seen in any workstation. Not talking key editor workflow or mixer channel design or anything else like that, re: features, although some of that stuff is nice too, but the general overall UI design.

It's a really great overall UI design that obviously can only really improve over time.

It really became evident to me how nice a design it actually is when I went into the "Triple Screen" view with of all the parts detached, and literally everything is accessible in every window.

They obviously spent a lot of time designing that UI and it really shows. Great UI design. Maybe the best overall general design I've ever seen in any modern workstation, fundamentally, at it's root, the more advanced audio editing and midi editing features not there yet aside from all that.

After 5-6 days looking it over, the UI, I am impressed. :tu:

/This epic thread that will probably go on for 200 more pages....
