Supposedly E-MU have promised an update sometime this summer that will give you a VST wrapper for the dsp effects on the card.
***Just would like to clarify for the record. I don't know where you got this information from but we have not promised anything.

Sorry! promise is a strong word. A correction would be that according to the swedish distributor E-MU "told" them that there would be an update around june that would include a vst wrapper.

Which means two things really, the swedish distributor could have misunderstood E-MU and E-MU at least likely has something planned.

do the soundbanks come with only the $600 emu-x studio or also with the $299 emu-x?

Hi All,
I just finished my feature review for Keyboard on the Emulator X Studio. Be sure to look for it in the June issue (I think) of Keyboard Mag.

Can someone please post some real samples of it in work? I would like to hear some good drum and bass made only on the emu-x. I am interested in hearing samples that show off how the filters are. Thanks~

I was thinking that also. They are not included, but after thinking a bit I think I know why: they would not sound hi-fi enough... There are fun sounds but think how lo-fi they sound today... I would have liked them, but I am sure would have given bad press to the sampler.

It is a very stable VSTi....

Notes:

-the best filters!
-unmatched modulation routings!

Do not buy it for the lib, it is pretty lame. The Proteus sounds are practical and make an excellent ROMpler...

Buy it for the sheer power, it is a great synth that uses samples as oscillators; as noted you can make great patches using single cycles waves. Wait untill you process your drumloops with the filters...

I am very happy with it; it is a musician's instrument.

Can you do the same routings as Kontakt?

Also, I think this was already answered but... Can I run say, cubase w/ my normal soundcard, but sample into the emu like how a normal sampler works? The one thing I hate is having to load up soundforge record a sample save it then load it up in kontakt.
Also, can you drag an audio file from cubase into the emu? Kontakt wont do this.

thanks

***If you haven't already check out the NEW Beat Shop 2 sound library for Emulator X.

http://www.emu.com/products/product.asp ... 2&nav=soft

The above MP3's feature the Emulator X with the new Beat Shop 2 sound library. The above are not loops, they were programmed using Roland V-Drums with some light edit/quantizing in Cubase. Recorded with a touch of Digital Audio Systems Stereo Reverb.

More sounds and demos are in the pipeline...
