ARghgh - Cubase SX2.2 scrambled my automation!

I was working on a song for over an hour. I saved it, closed Cubase, but then decided to listen to the mix again a few minutes later. When I loaded it back in, suddenly the automations were all over the place, not assigned to the correct instruments -- suddenly a controller which is supposed to be setting Monologue's send level to my delay is, while correctly located under the Monologue synth automation, actually changing Kontakt #12 output's send level. Is there any way of cleaning this up easy or am I better off starting from scratch and redoing all my automation?

Sadly, I don't think there's any way of recovering from this. I've had (dissimilar) problems with corrupt project files, and it doesn't appear there's anything you can do.
