I know, I know.
Fuckikng funniest dude we ever met was from NZ.
"f**king little Turk" he kept saying - me and my g'f were trying to work out who he was talking about - his six month old son. Always loved kiwis more than ozzies after that.
There ya go.
And my missus was from Newcastle. NSW.

OK. One thing you absolutely must buy now is a MIDI interface, a simple 1 in 1 out jobbie, $20 or $30. You will learn to use the Roland stage piano as both a controller AND a sound module, because the Ketrons can be used as multitimbral sound modules.Denv12 wrote:Hi.
I'm an Aussie guy,I just found this forum.I'm hoping to learn more about Midi sound modules,Midi connections,DAW software and appropriate hardware to run DAW software.I'm a non professional piano player, songwriter, singer and I invested in good equipment for home use only:
Roland RD700sx stage piano,
Roland KC350 amplifier
Tascam DP03- 8 track digital recorder/mixer/cd burner.
XLR mic
Ketron SD1000 sound module.
Ketron SD2 sound module.
The equipment is ideal for my needs.
I can play piano, record, upload to pc and burn cds. This area I'm comfortable with.
I'm reasonable computer savy for most basic computer things but not savy when combining software, computers and digital pianos.Thats where I need help.
I also need help with things like active sensing, etc.
OK, now go shopping in the KVR archives for a simple MIDI recorder - preferably a FREE one for your computer. Basically just a multitrack multi-channel MIDI recorder with a horizontal player piano style roll and editors.
After your shopping spree, lets's talk.

OP is a singer and songwriter and has an XLR mic. He needs an audio interface/mic pre as well as MIDI. Why not get all these wrapped up in one unit? Plenty of options.

No, I don't work for them. They just own most of my money.
