Midi CC to control VST's

I have a little dilemma.. I need to use a midi controller to control parameters on a vst instrument. I can't seem to find a way to do this (I'm using Cubase SX2)

Control is not automatic. The VST needs to support the automation. If you cannot control what MIDI CC's a controller sends, the VSTi will need MIDI Learn. Which VSTi?

Is there a single vsti your refering to...or is this a dilemma for more then one vsti ?
