I was always a bit snooty about tribute acts but don't have that luxury any more having bought tickets to see 'The Smythes' (for the third time...only ever seen two bands more than once before, Metallica and Public Enemy, oh and Dog on a rope).

I do love the names though, The Rozzers being an excellent one. There's a pub/venue near me that has loads of this type of thing on and in recent years I've seen posters for, ahem;

U3
DC/AC
The Beagles
Talon
Twin Lizzy
The Sex Patels (apparently an all Indian punk rokk combo..marvellous)

Do tell.

Not a specific tribute band, but a band that covered all kinds of late 70s disco classics (Chic, Rose Royce, Abba, KC and the Sunshine Band, etc.) called the Funkin' Bar Stewards. The drummer dressed up as Elvis for some reason as if he had come to the wrong gig.

Great band.

If there isn't already, there really should be a Public Enema tribute band.

There was an all male GoGos tribute a few years back called The GayGays, sorry I missed them :hihi:

And there is now a local combo called Skapeche Mode that sounds interesting

I don't think they had anything to do with the crappy kids show, but I always really regretting not going to see a local ska band called the Mighty Snortin Powder Rangers. :hihi:
