Hi Everyone,
Humanoid Sound Systems has now released Enzyme Player, which can be downloaded for the amazing price of $0.00 (FREE)! The plugin contains the complete synthesis engine from our acclaimed Enzyme synth, which has won awards for its innovative design and sound, and has all the essentials for music creation (access to all of the parameters, and the saving of presets is available with the full version).
The synth uses a unique combination of wavetable and physical modeling synthesis to create rich, dynamic musical timbres. Hybrid Scanned / FM synthesis is also on offer for even more sonic possibilities.
More info here: http://www.humanoidsoundsystems.com/enz ... gin-synth/
Cheers,
John.

I guess this is the same as the CM version?
Can those downloading this, also pick up the free patches that was made available online after the launch of that?

Yes, those presets will also work with the Player version.Numanoid wrote:I guess this is the same as the CM version?

This is nice. I couldn't stand the demo limitations as it would interrupt any wave movement right in the middle and not let you get any real sense of what the synth could do.
Now, I can finally get a real feel for it.
(You should really do a different type of demo limitation too).

Hm...I'd like to know your computer specs, 'cause on mine (Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3 GHz / RAM 3072 MB / Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit) "Enzyme" is unusable - I get instant max CPU overloads in FL Studio (9)...pff...shame, sounds like a very cool and different synth (same as the old SSP2).

That would be like a 10 year old processor now?idfpower wrote:Intel Pentium 4 CPU

I don't know if additional CPU instruction sets are used that aren't available on the Pentium 4, but Enzyme can be pretty heavy on CPU. There is a lot going on behind the scenes, despite the simple interface!
Peace,
Andy.

In FL Studio you have a chance to reduce the CPU hit on a plug by going into it's channel setting and ticking the "use fixed size buffer" option.

Yes, but I've decided I won't bother with upgrades just to be able to run certain plugins or games a long time agoNumanoid wrote:That would be like a 10 year old processor now?
Fact is a lot of recently released plugins perform well on an old machine so there's no real need to upgrade unless you want to run powerhouse synths like Diva and the like - but I'm not into that so I can still cope with my setup
Yeah, I know how to lower CPU consumption in FL but for some reason it doesn't make any difference when it comes to "Enzyme" (I've talked with someone at HSS and he agreed there must be something in the plugin's code that is driving FL Studio so hard). Tbh I've never seen such a high CPU hit from any other plugin. But like previously pointed out, there's a lot of processing & morphing going on in "Enzyme" so that's prolly why it eats so much CPU. And it does sound very different from other synths so I guess if you have a more up to date computer it's worth getting it.

I haven't got the latest processor either, it's an i3 M380 @ 2,53Ghz
Using Enzyme 32 bits in FL Studio 11.1 i get CPU hits at about 30% playing single notes. If I try to play chords it creeps over 40 towards 50
I guess if I had more RAM (I'm on 4GB) for example 8GB and went for the 64 bit version, the CPU hit could maybe become smaller as Enzyme then would have access to all the RAM? As a 32bit plug it can only access 4GB max.

I know, that's my main issue as well. But I've learned to cope with my setup limitationsNumanoid wrote:As a 32bit plug it can only access 4GB max.

This problem is entirely CPU bound. More RAM + 64-bit is not going to help.
The Pentium 4 is a very old CPU, but if you're happy with it there is no need to upgrade unless you want to use new generation synths (Synth Squad, Diva, Enzyme, Alchemy, etc.).
Peace,
Andy.
