It's best not to tell her that one too much. Also best not to say that after she stops breastfeeding.

Good luck with the birthing. I have a 14-month old son. Those babies sure can be a lot of fun to have around.

As for the competition idea, while technically useful, it would be awfully boring to have to sit through 30 entries of people trying to play the same thing. I don't know if you've ever looked at those segments in CM magazine where they try to recreate tracks. I can only remember the Kylie Minogue one, but all I could think when listening to the final track was that it sounded nothing like the original. Useful technique tutorials mind.

I like the single sample remix competition though.

Cheers,
Steve

So Steve, are you saying you like my idea or Armadillo's?

Regarding the comments to the missus, she knows mate, we have a real good relationship so it's cool

I suppose Armadillo's. Yours is a worthy technical exercise, but a bit heavy on the tedium for a competition. Although I just had an idea. I was just reading about an exercise that Brian Eno once did that could work. He recorded a few minutes of the outdoors and listened to it over and over until he learned it like music. Things like "and now here's where that guy starts his car" and so on. Could try to recreate that kind of sample in music. Say compose music with this exact structure.

About the missus, tell her, sure, but my advice would be not to tell her too often. Path of thorns, that.

Cheers,
Steve

Ah we have a deal there, I'll ignore her if she ignores me, it works for us....ten years in and still don't know what she sounds like

That's a great deal. Mine is she can freely ignore me, best if she does most days, but I ignore her at great peril.

cheers Gordon. I assume you mean with the birth, not the sex...
Yup I meant the former as I think you have already done quite well with the latter.

Best,
Gordon
