when i try to convert a wav loop to a mp3 loop, the mp3 loop is a bit longer than the original wav loop: and the time of the loop is wrong.
if you know a mp3 converter which don't do that?
i try with sound forge and other logiciels.
thanks.

Have you tried AUDACITY ?
It's free.

Nevermind! Caffeine hadn't soaked in yet. My bad. Audacity will load MP3 but will not save as MP3.

This is a problem with the Mp3 format (random frames of silence on the front).
I would suggest to use .ogg, not mp3.

... or use mp3trim (freeware) to cut the silence parts , it works directly on the mp3 file , so no de-/reencode involved

If you really have to compress individual loops, please go with a better format at least.
Try ogg vorbis for example. www.vorbis.com It's pretty much universal nowadays.
get oggdropXP and you won't have the file lenght problem. It's a simple drag and drop Ogg file converter with plenty of quality/filesize options.
Also, when compressing individual loops, consider lossless formats, like Monkey's audio, or the cross-platform FLAC.

Audacity will save as mp3 if you have installed LAME mp3 encoder library into it. You find on Audacitys download page.
Also saves as OGG.
There is also VST enabler for Audacity.
