Is there any change to the sound? In other words, do the patches from 1.5.1 sound the same in the current 64bit build?

Post

Of course. 64-bit doesn't imply any change in sound - it implies DAW compatibility and no need for bit-bridging.

I thought I'd ask, you never really know with Waldorf :dog:

The more I use Largo the more I really appreciate its Drive curvers.
Probably the reason behind Aiyn Zahev calling his Largo bank Drive. ;)

Any updates on Largo 64bit?

if the information on waldorf's facebook page is correct the 64bit updates should be available end of this week

Post

You must be looking at something different, cause I can't see any information on their facebook page that they are going to release 64-bit versions of largo vst this week.

Does not matter, cause I'll get my Blofeld tomorrow. Thanks EvilDragon for giving me that final little push that I needed to decide that Blofeld was worth buying.

if you go through the comments to the 64bit anouncement you will see that the guys from waldorf have responded to some user questions and have given an estimated release date for the end of this week.
cheers and congrats for your blofeld purchase. i'm also planning to get one :tu:

There is no official release date yet. Based on the current progresses it is likely that the updates are released soon but there is no guarantee.

I'm simply wondering at this point if it's worth blowing off the Largo and going Blofeld. The only thing I don't like about the Blofeld is you have to buy the add-on to allow for expansion presets?

Post

No - you have to buy the Licence SL if you want to load samples. All 1024 patches are overwriteable, otherwise.

Sample option is standard in Blofeld Keyboard.

Post

Ah. Is the Licence SL critical then? Is that all it does is unlock (or add?) space for user-samples?

Post

That's all it does. Plus adds a set of factory samples you can use if you want.

Post

Is it something you can unlock after-market or is hardware-based?
