Hi.

I would like to introduce Sir Elliot’s Classic Compression.




I made this Compressor while waiting for the kettle to boil to have a spot of tea.


Specifications

Threshold: - 30 dB

Ratio: 0.05 – 10.50:1

Attack: 100 - 500 milliseconds

Release: 550 milliseconds to 2 seconds

hi sir elliot, i watched your videos and all three compressors seem very interesting and useful. poor man's compressor especially, i can't wait to test it on some drums. are all three free? how's the cpu usage? are there problems on multicore machines?

also, is there a place where i can find all your plugins? a blog or something similar?

Thank you for the considering my plug-ins. All three compressors are free in which will (possibly) broaden your range of creativity when making music.

Using Samplitude's DSP percentage indicator on a single core Pentium 4, 2.8 GHZ CPU, offering 2 Gigabytes of RAM, using Pink Noise as a reference material, will offer the following consumption:

Sir Elliot Poor man's Compressor: 4 %

Sir Elliot Classic Compression: 5%

Sir Elliot Four-Stage Compressor: 5%

The operation system at the date of testing is Windows XP non-service pack.

My plug-ins will operate on a Pentium 3, 1 GHZ CPU offering 512 MB of RAM sitting on Windows 2000 SP4, without any jittering from the CPU under worst case scenario.

Although, I do not own a dual-core system, I would imagine a dual-core (more so a Quad) system should be significantly less than a single-core Pentium 4 system in terms of DSP consumption.

Sir Elliot's plug-ins is also compatible (I tested myself) with the following DAW platforms.

Reaper Demos

FL Studio Demos

Cubase Demos

Wavelab

I haven't heard any compatibility issues from anyone who downloaded my plug-ins thus far.

I'm in the process of creating a word-press website. Hopefully it should be available by the second week of May.
