The psychology of fame and music production

One thing I notice lately is how few downloads I get with the music I do with acapellas I purchased by Lokka Vox.
It seems I can't even give them away.
This is no reflection on her, as I think she stands up there with the best.
Perhaps it's on my end, but I do notice if I do an acapella from a 'famous' artist, it will get tons of downloads.
For example, on my old IllekTrik One SC page, my Donna Summer tribute has been played over 800 times and downloaded over 100.
I DO NOT want to get into any discussion about copyrights.
What I'd like is your thoughts on what this says about people, and is it the flocking to the familiar?
If anything, I think I've grown musically. But, I'll post a song, get a flurry of plays, maybe a repost, then it all dies.

Over years I noticed that. Famous artists always get hype no matter what they do, just because they are famous. New and upcoming artists do not, even if they are more talented or bring fresh ideas.

Can't understand that, since I always do otherwise. Rate only specific tracks and not artists as a whole. Sometimes an artist has one bomb and then looses inspiration, sometimes great artists get cheap and commercial over years. Sometimes producers change style from something I enjoyed to something different, or the other way round.
Continuing this thought, maybe that's why I'm respected as a DJ - I pick the very best TUNES that are not necessarily made by big names and not just play all the tracks from popular producers like everyone else. This sounds simple, but turns out it's not clear for everyone. People just keep asking me "where did you get all these tunes"? They are waiting here, just unnoticed.
