Regular drumbeats will produce trance. Formal hypnotic inductions will produce trance. Pacing or mirroring or imitating the gestures, body movements or affect of one person by another will produce trance. Complex human and ordinary activity such as falling in love, being absorbed in a TV program, marching in a parade, and even commuting to work all involve trance. Trance, when it does occur, occurs because the energy requirements of the DLP are less than the energy requirements of the primary GCL. Many ordinary activities would be impossible if it were not for the energy conservation effects of trance.Code: Select all
No Comment on that.

And finally... trance not about the bassline or the kick, or the groove and the AKAI cd is ripped off... It's more about the melodic part.
Usually ppl who make good trance, work mouch more on the melodic/vocal part than anything else.
so eh, van buuren and tiesto is melodic ? they spend most of their time making melodies ? the problem with that music is that it has NO melody whatsoever. it's all mechanical pap. van buuren seems to be all about chords. he throws some chord progressions that you could find in a $5 intro to chords book in a local book store. On the other hand he looks cool and have a radio show. that's all there is to van buuren

Armin van Buuren's work is 90% other peoples music like Airwave. He just mixes their music into one track. And yes, i have heard some great musical parts in some of his mixes. Some in "Boundaries of imagination" some other. But, like the linked article says :
Code: Select all

So what's this 'trance' then? Apparantly its not Busted, Slipknot, or Marilyn Manson, but is everything else under the sun. Apparantly.
If I didnt know better I'd say I was confused.

An idiot on Set Theory:
