Yes I do and I think posting on the biggest (?) forum, KVR, is an excellent idea. I'd have probably posted in Effects section which I imagine has a bigger impact than here. And I'd maybe keep the thread going til I got an answer. I was talking about taking it to other forums which to me is overkill and smacks of a campaign, something in this case I personally wouldn't bother with.
Well, as I stated in the original post, I wasn't sure where to put it. It's not about "effects" per se, and IKMM doesn't have a forum on KVR. If a moderator wants to move this, it's fine with me.

And yes, the "campaign" was really just tongue-in-cheek. I'm too laid-back (read: lazy) to start a campaign. Besides, that would take me away from making music.

Even I took a break here recently (no seriously, like almost 72 hours :hihi: )

Even if I am an asshole, by this point it's a two-way tango and I'm the f**king customer. The public face at least as far as KVR is people that don't take criticism, as if they need to seem perfect.

I like every product I have from them except for AT3 which was pretty traumatic and a last straw for me and this company. I think I did finally, through support back-and-forth, effect them actually addressing a major issue (you could not browse at all, instant crash. I think before this the company did not realize people use VE Pro as a host, I feel sure they had never tested it. There is another major bug for AT2 in VE Pro I'm not going to bother writing up, that ship has sailed and I just have to suck it up.). It produced instability in it somehow, or corrupted projects by me trying to use it. I don't use it, I totally do not respect having a shopping experience installed in a fricken plug-in and a 'free' product which most of the stuff is crippled in as a spur to go shopping directly from the thing. That's just gross to me. I'll just use AT2, then (I only installed 3 for x64, which is not crucial as VE Pro runs both side by side.). NB: I have every single bit of AT2 product. AT3 used to be a complete product and you paid for it, but it was kind of dear to me with no upgrade path whatsoever being someone who had just bought the whole line. Evidently that price point didn't work out, I'm sure I'm not the only customer that has that assessment of 'upgrade break'.

Once I brought up a real issue - internal IDs were changed in an update so all templates with T-Racks singles were borked as far as those plugins - and one of their people simply told me VSL was 'doing it wrong'. If I needed a lot of older templates for new work, I would take out a ticket and stay on their backs, but I actually pick my battles in life, I can't know it would ever get done. Their support is not great, it's not the worst, but overall the experience needs to be smoother for me, I lost confidence in them as a place to take my pocketbook to from a number of sides. (And I've had a post deleted they didn't want to address, as well. It wasn't that bellicose, compared say to some things their guys have pulled here.)

Good point, jancivil. IKMM's "official" rep here does say some pretty snarky things in response to some of the comments in these forums. To be fair, yes, some of the comments and concerns he has to deal with here could be expressed better (and more constructively), but as an official representative of the company, he should take the high road when responding.

And yes, he's the same one who's been responding in the forum where my posts are getting deleted. Coincidence? Maybe....

I'll be blunt, take it for what it's worth...I'm not really a big fan of IK, that's not much of a secret...I dont dislike them either but not my favorite company. BUT Peter is a very good friend of mine, I can understand being frustrated with a company and the rep for that company...but behind the rep is a good man and someone I respect very much.

That's why from now on i only care about IK if they have no-brainer group buys. Got my t-racks and amplitube on those group buy. The newest promotion is not in the no-brainer category, so i'll skip this one.

Do they do anything else than that? :D

Not one month seem to go buy without some groupbuy or lower than low price on their bundles.

I'm going to get Suey Park on the case with a superb hash tag campaign, perhaps #ignoreik until they give us the straight truth, Yeah I can see it now going viral

I'm not really joking when I say that playing the role of professional victim is becoming all to common here, Especially when IK Multimedia are mentioned just like these first world privileged (or better put, Spoilt rotten off their parent's bread winning) modern feminist's who have sod all to moan about but still have and pull a victim card given a glimmer of opportunity

If you missed whatever you wanted to buy a license for at 40 and it has since been increased to 50 then you missed it. Now you can either buy a license at 50 or not, Is it really not as simple as that?

Come on KVR, You are better than this

you missed the whole point: it was more the fact that they delete his post without any further comment multiple times. it's even the title of his topic.. ..and yes, he have every right to make this public imo.

+1 I agree with you, this is an annoying price hike, but it's not like some big conspiracy to swindle punters their money.

Anybody feel that the sudden inflation is a deal breaker, just don't buy the product.

If I had been a mod at KVR I would maybe have locked the thread if the OP was going over the top about this price hike. But I wouldn't remove it, that is not a good thing to do.

IMO people need to separate the man from the job...personal attacks on reps will yield no positives. Get mad at IK, dont get mad at the guy who is just doing the job he is told to do by his boss. Have I complained about how reps from IK pop into every thread? Yes, but not for a long time. I started thinking about it and the fact is they are doing their job, if I dont like it I can (as was suggested already in the thread) protest with my wallet...but complaining about it goes nowhere. Peter is not my only friend in such jobs that I see get abused, I wont mention names but one is a rep for a very large company and this guy gets calls at 3am looking for support.

Myself, I have been in this position working retail. Daddy's Junky Music always had a love/hate relationship with local musicians and for good reason imo...in fact when people ask me why I left Daddy's the answer is always the same "I remember why I dont like shopping there and working there is worse". (they are out of business now) I got tired of being the whipping post from both sides and a great example is those who walk in the door and say "I'm not paying that price YOU HAVE TO DO BETTER", then the abuse starts when I say "I can only go so low"...it wasn't me, it was the company, if I sold something for under the minimum price not only would Daddy's be on me but if it was a new product that company can and will pull their products off the shelves. The salesman does not set the prices but also people have to realize that the salesman is trying to make a living, when you ask them to give you a deal you are asking them to give you money out of their pocket...then there were the trade ins and purchases we made...again, we did not tell them what we would give them Daddy's told us what we could give them, break their rules and you're done.

What if the people complaining about the man doing his job pushed him to the point of quitting his job? Would that make people happy? He's not the one setting the prices, he's not the one in control and he's getting it from both ends too. But even worse if a rep was to quit his job what would that change, a new rep would come along and they will do what their boss says too.

All I am saying is separate the man from his job, put yourself in his shoes...we all need to make a living...if you dont like what the company is doing dont buy from them, if you dont like how a rep acts in threads, mute him.

With all that said, it's doubtful that I will buy from IK again simply because that is my choice. I had a lot of time to think about things last fall and I regret any grief I may have given reps here...they're just doing their jobs and these days if you have a job you gotta do what your boos says or risk it all...people crap on the reps and then expect them to go against their bosses for them? Sad

you miss the point, it's their house and they can what they wish...might I add that they do it at their own peril...I agree it's the wrong thing to do and it does make them look bad...but they make their own bed. I do not see the need for posting about it over and over knowing they are going to delete it. Coming here to gripe about imo is fine (I have done it myself many times), warning other people about what you consider to be bad business practices is your right...but then you do so at your own peril as well ;)

What you're doing is the other side of the coin of ad hominem. It isn't about the person, it's what he has done I think leaves something to be desired in terms of that job. I wouldn't want a rep doing it. I've caught Peter saying shit to me in a post here he felt he had to delete right quick.
I became unhappy with the way they did things. The one thing 'they're not doing it right' after their actual botch of the job, potentially causing every user with my setup serious problems, actually amazed me to see.

If you're telling us that IKMM feels they have to come away from any thread at KVR like their shit don't stink, and the rep has no choice but to convey that, great, thanks for sharing. This is my assessment of the relationship they have with the group here, not just me.

and you missed the point as well. the comment i quoted was because it ONLY contain the price change and not a single word about that what really made the OP upset and what is the reason for this thread: do you by any chance read the topic title and the post of OP?. i don't know what's so difficult to understand.

ps. and i disagree with your comment totally. customer with no right to ask something? LOL.. :)
