I've been to many gigs in my time but the ones that really stand out were:
The Raincoats, The Slits and This Heat, Electric Ballroom, Camden - my 3 favourite bands at the time all in one place - just an amazing once-in-a-lifetime sort of gig
Sharing a spliff with John Martyn on stage at Huddersfield Poly (1980)
A rousing session with Richard Thompson in a tiny pub front room in Oxford that only fitted about 15 people max
Crazy gig with John Otway and Wild Willy Barret in another tiny pub in Oxford - John Otway leaping all over the show

A lot stand out.
Watching the Subhumans in a small community center in about 1983 when towards the end of the gig half the audience were on the stage and the band didn't seem to care.
Motorhead supported by Tank on the Iron Fist tour and being unable to hear properly for 3 days afterwards. Yeah, not good, but the gig was so freaking awesome!
Queen on their final world tour really giving it their all.
As above - John Martyn drinking on stage with a local band and occasionally adding backing vocals. He wasn't even invited on stage but they didn't give a shit, it was John Martyn and he could do what he wanted!

I saw Johnny Moped at the Music Machine in Camden in '78 with Allan Holdsworth on lead guitar. We got the train home with Captain Sensible.
Ian Gillan Band at the Marquee in '78. It was sardine city and there was no air circulation. Ray Fenwick gave me his beer.
Queen live at Tiffany's in Purley in '79. Awesome show.
King Crimson at The Venue '81. It felt weird sitting at tables watching bands go about their business. You could order a meal.

Butthole Surfers at Numbers in Houston late 1987. They played their entire set (except encores) as one long continuous piece with little lighting and an ever changing movie of bizarre images (snake fighting a scorpion, closeups of someone getting their eye probed, undersea shark carnage, sex change operations, all sorts of crazy shit I can't recall) projected behind them. And just below the stage an ever changing silhouette of slam dancers arms, heads, legs, even during the long drumless feedback excursions. One of the encores the drummer played a flaming cymbal full of gasoline.
Mind. Blown.
(and really I'd only eaten a very small 1/4 tab of LSD, so I'm sure it wasn't just the drugs
