One-Synth-Challenge 62: PolyIblit - Submissions, Chat & Voting

Hi all,
I had not much time at the beginn of the month. When I started to work seriously with Polyiblit I saw the heavy discussion going on here in the forum about unfair voting and new rules. This inspired me to this track. It beginns quite relaxed. Then, after a interference, the rhythm changes, it is getting louder and harder, up to a fortissimo. Followed by a relaxed outro again, with an fade out as a symbol, that OSC should stay relaxed, as we were in the past.
Therefore I called the track: Calm Down
http://soundcloud.com/photonic-1/photonic-calm-down
27 instances of Polyiblit in Cubase 5 Essential
Filter: TDR VOS SlickEQ, MQ57
Dynamics: TDRFeedBackCompressor, GClip, FluxBitterSweet-II, ClassicCompressor
Delays: IxoxDelay, NastyDLA, MonoDelay
Reverb: Tila 2, Abstract Chamber
Satturation: Voxengo Boogex
Analyzer: Span, TT Dynamic Range Meter
Dynamik Range according TT Dynamic Range Meter: DR=10

Here is my entry for the month...
https://soundcloud.com/cytosonic/cytoso ... -polyiblit
I used 9 instances of PolyIblit and made the song in Reaper.
I used reaDelay on the percussion and the "electric piano" tracks.
I used eaReckon's FR-COMP 87 on the Kick.
I used a few T-Racks CS Classic EQs to cut a few bands here and there (yes, it's free).
I used reaVerb also to add some space.
I used George Yohng's W1 Limiter on the master bus to keep things in check.
I had bigger aspirations for this month, but ended up not getting along too well with this synth. In the end I scrapped my work and decided to just record something fun. 99% of what you hear was captured live. I am not the best at the keyboard and was tempted to go in and clean up some of my timing mistakes. But listening to it, I kind of liked how the song sounded like it could come "un-hinged" at any moment. The only major editing done after-the-fact was volume automations for the individual tracks.
I hope you all enjoy it!
-Brad
Edit: oh, yeah, this has a Dynamic range of 11 according to the TT DR Meter (are we still supposed to be stating this?)

Howdy
https://soundcloud.com/loftelectronics/hot-in-the-loft
8 instances for the beat, using Traktion stock fx (not many) plus Slick HDR and OTT for flat compression
Another 8 for the tunes in Studio One
And two more layered in Traktion again with a bit of Bootsy reverb for end atmospherics and then all glued together in Studio One.
I like this synth very much.

Does anyone else to have problems with soundcloud at the moment? I can't upload anything, the upload page isn't loading.
I don't know how to submit my track if it doesn't start working again soon.

Just announce it here before the deadline if you're having SC problems uploading etc., I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be a problem to get it sorted out if it's just a problem with the SC site.Orboscope wrote:Does anyone else to have problems with soundcloud at the moment? Hi all, first time submission.
http://soundcloud.com/terebellum/rose-m ... -polyiblit
I ran out of time and I am not overly happy with the sound (also too soft) but I still wanted to contribute what I managed to finish.
I'm using Usine Hollyhock with 15 instances of Polyiblit.
Effects: Epicverb, FerricTDS, ReaEQ, ReaFir, ReaComp, ReaXComp, DensityMkiii, Limiter No 6.
Hollyhock effects/modules used: Simple Filter, Delay, Linkwitz-Riley EQ, and SoftDisto. Also some midi effects modules (Midi delay + feedback + pitch, Midi Freez). Also using some inbuilt and custom written FastScripts for midi transforming: e.g. midi accumulation, delayed playback, repeats, pitching etc...
Cheers.

Hi all,
Just want to inform you, that I remastered my track. Not a big change. The first one was a bit too bassy.
The DR changed to 11.
