DUNE 2 is out now!!

I assume like me, Frank (4damind) is running demo version of Dune 2.
is anyone running the 64 bit version on Cubendo in the demo mode that it is running fine?
It is crashing Nuendo 64 bit I have installed on my system, almost like tone2 stuff was crashing before their ilok fix. I am wondering if there is a issue in the demo version's protection system.
Runs fine on the mac cubase 64bit.
thanks

Yea I'm on a macbookpro coreduo2 and multicore doesn't crash it either.Krakatau wrote:I confirm in the sense that it doesn't at any moment crashes my intel core duo macminimcnoone wrote:edit: Forgot to say that with the multi-core on. This synth uses the least cpu of any synth I own, and that includes the Korg synths, which are known for low cpu usage.
A little less than it system requirement : http://www.synapse-audio.com/dune2.html
DUNE2 is great for the trance dance, pads, arps, and 90's pluck pads thing, but not some kind of analog type synth. So don't expect that. While it can do some analog type sounds, it doesn't get that squelchy spitting resonance like with analog modeled synths.
If it did do though...?

Very nice sound. As already said, it can sound rich, creamy, lush. Whatever you like.
The filters are dramatically better than in version 1. On par with Largo, Zebra, and the likes. I can't confirm the high CPU usage either, seemed pretty normal to me. At least not more than on the other stuff i own.

Looks amazing, very virus Ti like. Interface is also much more professional and cleaner than v1 which I didn't like at all.

I just wrote a looong preview of Dune 2 as my first message here, but the forum insists it's spam, not a very nice welcome
..
I'll just say it's definately better than v1, but it didn't immediately make me buy it. Better filters, better wavetables, worse gui. I liked the v1 everything on one screen. Better distortion, phaser still sucks. Crashed S1 Mac 32bit when scanning wavetables, but will continue evaluating.

Will my speakers take off if I use all of them?

Not yet. The future will lell. In the meantime, it's fine as it is.Kriminal wrote:Its not skinable, despite many requests. Massive shame.

I really, really like the new GUI to be honest!
It looks very clean, without too much pseudo realistic bullsh*t going on.
Cheers

Fantastic Keys and Pads, much better from version one which I thought was lacking and the filters are very sharp and clean sounding. Had a blast working with it so far but unfortunately its time to hit the sack from being up too long. Here's another demo track in case anyone wants to hear some of the presets or sounds from dune2 thats possible to create..

For you maybe. As for the future, seems very unlikely to ever be skinable, for some vague reason given on beta forum.Karten wrote:Not yet. The future will lell. In the meantime, it's fine as it is.Kriminal wrote:Its not skinable, despite many requests. Massive shame.
