Hey all. Thought I'd post another bit of the soundtrack from this era of my life. It's been bad for various reasons, but good for song ideas. Sometimes your brain says "move on" but your heart says, "not yet."
Moving On Friday
I'm going to re-record the vocals and probably spice up the track a little on the 2nd verse, but I'd love any feedback/input before I get back to work on this.

something about your vocals rules. they're kind of airy and scractchy, but just great. you've got a hell of knack for writing good songs too. loved the lyrics and the theme of the song. it was a bit basic and the rythm/percussion, whatever you want to call it was a bit repetitive, but very, very nice start.

Thanks T. Always appreciate your input. Perhaps I'll have some 'live-feel' drums kick in on verse 3 to fight the fake-ness.

Hi Plunge,
The last song you posted was one of my favorite songs i've heard on KVR. I also love your last winning contest entry.
So i can criticize this one...
Very nice voice and nice melody...
But the accompagnment is not very exciting. That sounds cold.
I miss acoustic sounding instruments.
I don't like very much the electronic ones you chose. The pads at 1'33 sounds banal to my ears.
The lack of stereo is also annoying.
That's only an opinion...

The very first thing that I am glad never came was a vocoded voice as somehow when this all started I felt coming (but never came pfew). Yes I stand next in line to say that your voice is deep and quite expressive; a joy to listen to....
Something in the rhythm section: there's this one hat/shaker within the sequence that is lifted a few notes but to my ears lifted way too high as the difference with the other shakers is just too big, and I feel these notes to be overly distractive.
The soft organney chords are delicious to listen to and very pleasant to the ears but are in dire need of a balancing;/answering sound. My ears are thinking in the direction of an accoustic guitar or some strong attacked vibes.
And where the heck is the bass?
(must confess I missed it only after the second/third listen)
Or in other words; with merely the organ and voice as melody-makers I think you allready did a heck of a job on song build
