Plunge, feeling bad that he can only listen to each song once, mentally notes which ones he'll come back to download and keep later....

Grillo - Alba
Doesn't work. Rats.

EarthTones - The New Gods
Looks like His Omnipotence doesn't like your storyline. I can't get the link to work. I'll try to get some of these later that I'm not having luck with tonight.

Mystahr - The Eighth Day
Very vibey. I think this is my favorite that I've heard from you. All these open-ended storylines leave me feeling very uneasy. I hope I don't have nightmares tonight about being overrun by frogs. Or aliens on the other side of the hill. Or space cemetaries.

farlukar - Comfort Formula
Ogg. Can't do them here. Bummer

Joenco - Wake Up
Another scary set up. We're a dark lot here at KVR. What did you do to that vox? Very wicked. In a good way, I guess. Music is as uneasy as the plot. Works for me.

pheeleep - KVR1
Another cliffhanger. I guess everyone is calm and collected in the future. Even when they are about to die. :) Your voice is actually good. I like the musical trip.

And with that, Plunge settles into his home quadrant and ponders whether something slimy is just outside his front door. Well done all.

The missing reviews of page 1 and 2

Beardedone – As always a treat to listen to your tunes, and this one just fits right into the theme doesn’t it. Loving the orchestral touch that just oozes of the monitors into my living room. Very clean production yet still a filled out stero-field where things are happening everywhere. I think this one’s rather interesting compared to what you usually bring as the spaciousness here is something new. Do carry on ....

Blue Days – the link seems to not be working in the radio-link from markleford

Andreas Erhardt – With getting a bit familiar with what you usually offer to contests or track sharings this (like beardedone) travels new paths. Those stretched out string(?)pads give this quite the unusual orchestrated feel. Andreas: there’s noise in this one ..... Have you been secretly indulging in some noise-core????? I don’t mind one bit though – I love noise and you seem to have captured it quite good, although a tad more EQ’ing would have balanced the noises with the orchestration in the background.

Bastien – Link still not working; even right click don’t respond. PM is on its way.

Choochat – Lovely fields of glory and great soundscapes Tom. Heh; dystopia, I like that word, fits well with the provided tune too. Great mixture of various styles and sequences with some cool percussion programming. I most loved the high pitched bells and how they comfertably sit in the song.

Infektedm – Realizing the speed of this for download (half an hour for 1,7Mb) I am downloading this in turtle mode, and will provide for a faster link. What the heck is it about Russian (or in this case Romanian) links that just crawl ever so slowly.

Thanks plunge for the reviews

Jax – A great atmospheric build with classical elements. Partially embedded with a joyous feel and on the other side a haunting feel. The rhythms that started late in the second half would imo been better off starting way earlier to further build a theme upon. Good production though.
Thanks Mystahr :)

If I was finishing it now I would start the beat ealier, leave it much into background and fading in instead :P

And still is hard for me to cope with the 2 min limit :( It's the time it takes me to "warm up" a piece
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

It is, as I myself have done quite a few 10min+ songs as well. There is however an awfull lot you can do within 2 mins I have learned through entering these contests ;)

Cool. Are those the same gunners from the island a few contests back? Again, I must ask, are the guitars yours, or loops? If they're yours, I like. Well, I like them anyway, but won't be as impressed if they are samples/loops.
Thanx.

I haven't used the gunsamples before (and I couldn't really think of a way of doing them myself).

Off course the guitars are real :-)

InfektedM - I rather like this tune, but I feel it to be a very stretched song that builds little and has few dynamics as song-progression. Pretty good sound-control though where I feel a bit more was to be gotten from the bass sounds through envelopes and velocity sensitivity.

I took the liberty of uploading this as a temporary link since it took me over half an hour to download this one:

Mmmm. Tweaky. I like the loop and the way the riff changes timbre. Love the melody. But it's in my head and not on the track. Oh well.
thanks for listening and taking the time to review, plunge :) I'm quite fond of tracks where the best melody is the one in my own head. I just keep forgetting to record it, so that everyone else can hear it. :hihi:

Mystahr offered to host my tune on his serv coz the old one was awfull

i posted the new link in the submission thread so i just wanted to let everybody know, especially the dude handing out the prizes :D

Hey Plunge - thanks for the review
Can't wait till Bruce Willis does a futuristic musical!
Maybe I should pitch the idea to him - it would make a good movie.

BTW the link to 'Be Somebody' seems to be broken :(

Cool orchestrations even if it doesn't sound like a real orchestra playing. I like the ideas. I like the disjointed feel you've got going. Sounds like a wounded evil walk. Pretty musically.
Thanks a lot plunge... :D
The orchestra is a 63Mb FREE sf2, so i'm not very surprised it doesn't sound like a real orchestra.

rsmus7 - Journey To
Sounds spacey. I'm trying to figure out where all the instruments you list are. Subtle but nice.

Thanks for your review,

to help you a bit ( don´t take me too serious):

it starts with an reaktor "green matrix" pad-sound, the lead is from my AN1x, the guitars are much in the background just at the end you hear the one solo-guitar, bufferoverride makes the space bleeps, as a bus-send FX.
all other FX I used to make the sounds like they are.
sound is vibration, vibration is life

plunge and Mystahr, thanks so much for your reviews. 8) :)
plunge wrote:AndreasE - Spaceship Tragedy
I'm a little over powered by the crashing spaceship at first, but I do like where this goes musically. I don't normally think "Pipe Organ" for space music, but it works. (so did they live?)
Do they live? Maybe in another galaxy... :D

The string pads are M-Tron strings (therefore the lo-fi sound) combined with M42Nebula. And the noise is really intended (made by Ohmboyz plugin).

Thanks Mystahr! You are right. This ain't in the same spirit as my pseudo-jazz stuff. I was aiming for a movie or TV serial feel. I'm pretty happy with the results esp since I think it has enough cheese to fit my story line.

Cheers,
Gordon
