Hi, im testing out idea generator and using the select from list chord progression option, but when i add anything below major scale and down, there all C chords, every note is a C note in all of them except for absolute chords. this wasn't happening in the other build. is this a bug?

No bug that I know of. If your Composition key is C, you'll see C chords pop up in all of those progressions... as they are "songwriter" progressions (with the first chord usually being chord I (aka "The One" or "Chord One"), which would be C in the key of C major.

Everything should all be well.

A good choice if you're looking for fully random progressions, is set the Idea Tool to "choose progression randomly"... you can specify the key, or not. If you don't, it will be based around C major.

actually i do think its a bug, I tried it your way and it works for about 60% of the scales, but when you select some of the options in scales there all C progressions all key of C still.

What I did was select choose progression randomly and selected use specific scale, but in the third option for selecting scale type, for a lot of them they all generate C progressions all in key of C.

And if i manually select to add the chord progressions that I want to generate, like I said above, everything below major scale and down is C progressions in the key of C only.

the only work around for this is to keep shift G to regenerate the progression multiple times until C progression is finally changed to something different!

Hi musicnerd,

I am almost sure the file that stores all chord progressions got corrupted. I have seen this once but could not figure out why and how it happened. Will you please send me 'ChordProgressions.rcCHPR' from
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\RapidComposer\DB if you are on Windows, or from
~/Documents/RapidComposerV2/DB if you use OS X.

If you rename/delete that file and reinstall RapidComposer (on Windows) or just start the application (on OS X) the default chord progression file is copied there.

Thanks,
Attila

Hello musicnerd

What are the news?

Would you agree to let us try in our computer with your file suggested by Attila?
