Hmmm... these examples really sound 'flat' and, hate to say it, but -soft synth- compared to the original tunes it's emulating. *might* be the mixing.... but sounds more like the synth....

Yes, you can really feel the power of a good reverb, even if used sparingly, in the works of Vangelis - especially when you see him noodling in his studio (and using many CS80 factory presets). U-he's wonderful Zebra obviously benefits from this effect too.

Also, if you haven't tried it, it's interesting to run Synth1 through/in an oversampler like VST Oversampler - it really smooths out the filters and of course reduces the aliasing! Not for all patches/uses, but shows a very interesting new side to an old friend!

And thank you for the cool patches, Chris S.!

bstageboss wrote:I've been tinkering with Synth1 off and on over the last few months; at some point I decided to try my hand at some Jupiter-8 preset emulations similar to the OP-X ones. Quite a few of them can't be emulated, due to differences in the synth architecture, but sometimes it's possible to cheat a bit. So here are a few examples; if there are any Jupiter-8 owners still on here, maybe let me know how close these are.

I still have a Jupiter-8, you have done a good job creating some of the sounds. Very impressive indeed :tu:

I guess it's this one:
http://www.kvraudio.com/product/vst-ove ... y-arkecode
But the download link is not working anymore.

Post

This version is not exactly the last one (1.4 instead of 1.5), but the link works:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B33hLs ... VwOGs/edit

It seems to be the only URL that works on all the web!

So, I hardly suggest everybody to download it and keep it!

Or if you want, as it is opensource I can make it available permanently in my Depositfiles public area.

Agree?

EDIT : Done!
:tu:
You'll find it forever in my Depositfiles area.

I've just found also this in Christian Budde's website:

http://www.savioursofsoul.de/Christian/ ... versampler

Maybe it could fix the question...

Here's a dozen more original patches. I guess the only one that's an "emulation" is the Power Chords patch which reminds me of the Rompler sounds from the late 80's early 90's.......the rest are more ambient in nature.....hope you find some of them useful ! :)

Oh and don't forget one of the great joys of Synth 1 is because of it's low CPU demand you can layer up a bunch of them, select complimentary patches and have some huge sounds to play........... :D

So far Chris' Tubular Bells patch gets my vote............ :tu:

Absolutely! Brilliant way to get some big, complex sounds from Synth1! I even made layers of a fuzzy GTR powerchord, bass guitar, (and sometimes strings or organ) and hard kick to assist in composing - like playing a whole block of sound at once! And of course, pads can get pretty mind-blowing!

Thanks for the new patches Tek! Your Synth1 patches are always impressive!

more for my favs tek thanks

Thanks. :)
Also like your bank, my favs are the pads (omega, galaxina, mer de vie) and the fluid arp. I think you should lower the gain on some patches, so that they don't get to 0 db.

Nice sounds teksonic thanks for the share

Where is the soundbank as promised from the OP ?
