I agree about Wusik Station. It comes with a ton of presets and there are many more available either free or very inexpensively. It also comes with EVE which is a decent little synth in its own right. Also, pick up Tyrell from u-hu. It is free and very cool. I also agree about the CM mag DVD. There are some very cool instruments there as well.
This space has been unintentionally left blank.

Sonigen Modular - free, flexible as hell and high quality. Being modular, it might seem difficult to work with but it has a really nice structure. Soundwise it rivals and might even surpass some of the synths mentioned above.

Well $50 wont get you much of anywhere, there are a lot of free options though, I say you get some free stuff, anything from TAL, look up Angular Momentum, they have some great stuff. Save up $100 for Sylenth-1, its my personal favorite and is the phattest softsynth i have

I make dance and techno trace music but a lot of the time when i dont make music i feel is dance or techno i just call it my genre. So it has to be a soft synth and im not anything near a sound engineer so if it could have a lot of presets that would be great. Also i would appreciate if i didn't get any answers like "well first you need a host" because when i first started i took the time to learn a lot of stuff about electronic music production.![]()

M1, Wavestation, and Padshop are all a good $50 spent, as they don't really suffer in comparison to more expensive products. Providing you like those types of synths, of course.paveloso wrote:Actually, you CAN get some pretty cool softsynths for around $50:

Sorry not to offend the OP, but it is funny
I had the opposite experience! Recently, I had a question and when I google it, I found an answer by myself!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

But maybe it is lost in the translation, maybe he wanted to update the thread with the experience he has got now 2 years later hunting bargain synths
