I would love this if it was good, but I don't currently love it because it's not good. I really wish it was good, but unfortunately it ain't. Well, except the Lacs' verses.

Too too much!

Psychedelic rock, ambient, kosmische, experimental electronica & noise, some post-rock, some jazz, some hip hop, prog, electronic and industrial/gothic type rock, some shoegaze, techno, house, some electro, tribal drumming, indian raga, some blues, some pop (not much mainstream, but sometimes), some classical, strings, strings, strings, and a bit more cello, weird library music, radiophonica, plunderphonica, synth nostalgica, DUB!, and other ear-feeding weirditudes and genre-defying mixups.

The ratio goes in phases, but I pretty much always spend more time listening than making. Like a gluttonous jabba-the-hut getting fat on all the aural candy available, occasionally squirting out a little soundfart in between.

I wish I could draw that.

The first thing there is in six. At one focus there is a two emphasis but also three (note the sax); compound time, there are 3 2s and 2 3s inside of 6. It settles into a '6/8' with ONE and FOUR emphasized. I guess your statement is some irony

jancivil, I tried to be ironic only in the title. ;-) But some good stuff posted already.

Thanks for the analysis, I do that way too rarely. But I still count it as four beats of the drum four times before the reed melody kicks in. Often there's a loud clap there too, this example doesn't emphasize it much. The sound that hits there in the between (if by sax you meant that), you probably are correct about the timing, to me it seems they tend to layer stuff in different time signatures.

+1...I wouldn't want to single out one band or song and ignore another. Just as hate is a very strong term, so is love...the kind of music that I would love or have loved is music that touches me, that reaches me, that I can relate too. Now in the other thread deb made a great point about liking music people put their passion into (not verbatim, I hope she does not mind my paraphrasing)...I love to see people passionate about what they do, I really love to see people put their all into something. However sometimes I appreciate the effort while not really caring for the end product.

So the kind of music I'd love is music that I can relate too, posting all of it is a bit of a waste of time because no one is going to sit here and listen to every song posted in these type threads nor would my wife sitting next to me listening to our shared music appreciate my hi-jacking our listening enjoyment and time together

Well, I dug it. I believe you have counted two twice, rather than four.

But hey! As much as I chat around here, I've never done a copycat thread before so might as well be about loving music. I'm pretty rutted in what kind of music I listen to so it's nice to hear what people consider worth loving (even if it means they "would love, if..") -- I might be rutted but I'm still curious.
