Hello again all!
I have just finished an alternate version of my track Hidden Frequencies (2004).
This time I've retained the main melodies of the original,removed a few and added some new ones,but the style ,beats and sounds have all been changed.
This is more of a chilled out,stripped back version.If you've not heard the original version I've put a link to that too.

Any feedback or comments are greatly appreciated.

Lounge version - I just loved it when that piano came in and played tricks on my ears in the sense of that it felt as if the piano was off the beat pushing the drive of this forward. Cool touch there. A fine listening tune

original - yeah indeed; totally different, yet in the core they are one and the same. What I noticed somehow in the beginning of this track is how the bassey background is dynamic within the sequence, much variation in the singular notes making this interesting to listen to.

Perhaps not high-flyers leaving a lasting impression, but I quite enjoyed the sound treatment you had going on here. It certainly shows you had fun creating this.......

I'm glad you liked them.

Yeah it was definately enjoyable undertaking the task of creating an " alternate" version.
I felt the bass had to feel very different to the original as it seemed to set the "mood".
Think I'll try it with some of my other tracks...

Hi there...I'm a bit late replying.

I liked both versions of HF, but the Space Lounge version is my favourite. It's definitely the laidback feel that I'm into at the moment. The piano sounds off-beat, and it gives the track an almost improvised feel to it. The original version is better than most JMJ stuff I've heard. I'm off to dig out "Concerts in China". I'll post a review on EM with some more comments.

BTW, I've got a couple of tracks to upload soon to EM. Not much chance to work on a whole lot of new ones - too busy changing nappies!

Glad you like the "Space Lounge" version.Only had one person who hated the piano so far,most people seem to like it which is reassuring as I'm doing a similar re-working to "Oceans Of Light" (another one of my tracks) at the moment.

The whole nappies thing sounds like hard work! Something to experience in the future...
