Hello,
maybe one of you can help me.
I installed Alchemy today and located the VST file in the right place. When opening Reaper I select Alchemy but then everything freezes inside Reaper.
Other programs running on the computer are working fine however.
Does anyone have an idea as how to solve this?

Sorry to hear about the problem, it sounds unusual and a difficult one to solve. The best thing to do is contact support by email:
support [at] camelaudio [dot] com
Please include a copy of AlchemyLog.txt if you can, it will help us identify the problem. The file is located in the Alchemy data folder.

I will ask them and maybe this can be fixed somehow. Hope this can be sorted out. I have very little experience with electronic music but so looking forward to get started.
Would there be any other software you might recommend as an alternative to Alchemy?

Alchemy is fully tested and working in Reaper on Windows and Mac, the problem must be related to the installation or your system, which is why I suggested contacting support.
Which version of Alchemy are you using?
Regarding alternatives, there aren't many plugins capable of what Alchemy can do. It is a unique and powerful synth.

It should be the latest deo version then (as I installed it tonight). I followed the usual steps and used the default settings during the installation.
Just now sent the Camel Audio team an email, wishing this can work out

The demo version should work in Reaper. You could try running Alchemy as a standalone plugin using Savihost, which is available here:
http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm
Instructions for using Savihost (with any plugin, including Alchemy Player) are included on the above page.
