You need to place a number before your .sy1 file patch names eg: 001.Final Countdown) They won't show up in a synth-1 zipbank without it

Ah? Intresting! I didn't know Synth1 reads other but 001.sy1 structure.
So 001.anyname.sy1 will work?

Great, so we don't have to edit the name when the bank is complete.

I changed the names, should be OK now.

I have just has a look at other soundbanks and they are all just named 001.sy1 002.sy1 etc..Not sure where the name gets imprinted there

I'm talking about the folders in my Program Files / Vst Plugins / Synth1 / Zipbank.
