But hey! As much as I chat around here, I've never done a copycat thread before so might as well be about loving music. I'm pretty rutted in what kind of music I listen to so it's nice to hear what people consider worth loving (even if it means they "would love, if..") -- I might be rutted but I'm still curious.

I'm with ^^^^^^(controlcentre)...nothing wrong with copycat threads and/or contrast threads

Some 80's Electro (Gary Numan, etc).

Lots of different things. If I picked the thing that I thought I liked most it would probably be something different every day.

Here's an example of what I was listening to in the car earlier, and it's still in my head now. Great song:

I say this often myself, but many people (including musicians) do not understand where there is at. It is to me the very essence of why music is such a factor in my life and has such a positive influence on me over the years. There is different for everyone and that's what makes it so special, there's not much we can say is truly ours in this world but imo there is all mine. Performing live wont get me there, that's why I like my little corner of music...listening to music (all genres really) can get me there.

yeah, that's how I am...that's why I dont do the favorite artist threads and such. So many factors come into play when it comes to music people can relate to. Anything from nostalgia to inspiration so often I am listening to stuff that some people may walk by my door and thing "what the hell?" (I know you know this band Mike) Denise doesn't get my like for the band Sweet (but she likes the Mike Chapman stuff from Pat Benatar) but I was a Sweet fan in my early teens..memories...she thinks of Sweet and thinks of Ballroom Blitz and Little Willy...I remember learning a lot by playing along to Sweet as a kid (cant say I really learned the songs then)...Desolation BLVD (like so many albums from my past) I have had on every medium it seems. vinyl, 8-track, cassette, CD and MP3...but it wasn't until about ten years ago I found out there was a U.S. Desolation BLVD and a U.K. Desolation BLVD...the U.K has a totally different Fox on the Run.

Once in the late 80's I was up to the camp in Maine with an ex-girlfriend, we took a long ride up the coast from Bar Harbor to Quoddy which takes you through towns that are tiny. We stopped at a little store and the had one of those spinners with cassettes in it and I was looking through it and was shocked to find Desolation BLVD. I had been trying to find it again for years but could not, but there out in the middle of nowhere there it was...now I donrt even have to get out of my chair to find music I like...tbh I kinda miss the old days of going out for the day on a music quest

I got into Jimi Hendrix mainly when 1st rays of the new rising sun was released, which was previous stuff released after he died, but went out of print in the usa, never saw it.

His later stuff has always inspired me to songwrite, in fact I'm just a ripoff. I'm a trained musician but the only scale I play is the blues scale.
