I would call it a wise investment, get it a $90 during the intro (outside EU don't have to pay VATBut at this intro price, I'm finding it futile to resist!

Hi guys, still have 8 hrs to be home to d/l the demo.
Is the synth only good for Mad scientist or R2D2 kind of sounds ? This was based on my very first impression from the sound demo and youtube. How about main stream bass / Lead / pad sounds for Trance....

You have tons of other synths for that.

Well, let's just say that we weren't exactly happy about that video. It wasn't posted with our consent, and we would have never agreed to this being posted.cowby wrote:Hi guys, still have 8 hrs to be home to d/l the demo.

For a proper first impression with useful presets and stuff I'd recommend to wait 3-5 weeks.

IMO it's not a synth I would use for pads, bass or leads or other "typical" sounds (of course you can create pads with Bazille but there are other synth which can do this better). Bazille is a synth which must be demoed if it works for the own style or not.cowby wrote:Hi guys, still have 8 hrs to be home to d/l the demo.

For me it's not working, I don't like the overall sound and for this more "experimental" sounds I already have Absynth.

I saw a vid on YT explaining routing and stuff which was pretty useful for somebody as clueless as I am with this type of synth.

There is a video somewhere by someone who "guessed" the download location of an earlier beta of Bazille and simply made a video.samsam wrote:Which video, if I may ask?Urs wrote:Well, let's just say that we weren't exactly happy about that video. There is a bunch of preview videos done by myself, which are from 2009 or so. These are supposed to be informative, but they are from such an old state of the software, it'll be hard to judge from there.

Had a quick try out of the demo too. My goodness, the u-he interfaces have gotten *sooo* much better these days, really slick and polished, and the whole instrument feels great. It's the software version of "expensive build & design".
Makes Z2 really rather shoddy in the front end department, looking forward to that (eventually) getting the modern polish too.
I agree on the "approachable" comment, which is a pretty good achievement for a modular... the whole product is very slick. And that's before I've really done anything with the actual sound engine...

I think Bazille does amazing basses... especially Bazille has an incredible low end while still being modulated, with resonance etc. IMO the basses in Bazille are rivaled by only a few synths in sheer quality and it has a variety of unique sonic qualities.cowby wrote:Hi guys, still have 8 hrs to be home to d/l the demo.

And for Leads, it is also excellent. There is a lot of unique character to be found. Because of all the audio rate modulations you can really push a sound but still have a remarkable fidelity and coherence.
So for basses and leads, Bazille far more than holds it own.
Pads is a bit different. You can make some gorgeous saw pads as good as any synth for example, but you can do something similar in numerous synths for much less cpu. For many pad sounds, I would use something else. OTOH, Bazille has a unique palette and particularly for pad sounds of a noisy character has some uniqueness to offer. Bazille lends itself to a particular organic character.
You didn't ask about it, but Bazille is also great for percussion/drum sounds.

Search "u-he bazille r2d2" in google and you will find the first youtube clip.

Thanks Bro for the feedback... Went home with my tired eyes and have played the demo for 15 mins.pdxindy wrote:I think Bazille does amazing basses... especially Bazille has an incredible low end while still being modulated, with resonance etc. IMO the basses in Bazille are rivaled by only a few synths in sheer quality and it has a variety of unique sonic qualities.cowby wrote:Hi guys, still have 8 hrs to be home to d/l the demo.

Is the demo only has 1-2 preset ?
I own some well-known synths (Camel audio/Fxpansion/NI K9U/ etc..) so programming this guy is a bit pain. But I think once I figured out the routing possibitlities, then programming the preset is fun. But it is the matter of time. For quick-win in terms of preset programming, I'd like to stay with my current synths and wait for Z3.
