better cpu performance is #1 on the need-to-fix list, but making the audio clips waveforms look usable at all is a very close #2. all the clips look like in windows 95 era app, but audio files with ugly and totally unusable waveform previews are the worst. someone should smash Presonus' devs in their faces with cubase/logic/bitwig screenshots to show them how audio/midi clips should look in 2014.
this might not look important, but this is what you are going to stare at most of the time, isn't it? and being able to differentiate samples by their waveform would really help to work on larger projects.
so.
yeah.

Double bleh bleh. I think a big part of it is how the waveforms and midi blocks appear on the arrange timeline. Just doesn't look good to me. The rest of the interface is pretty functional with a lot of good attributes, but I don't like looking at an arrangement in Studio One.

Triple bleh. MIDI/Audio Clips appearance, limited color palette are rather uninspiring. Still usable, but very very plain.

I know, and it effects the sound!

I dunno, I've had "prettier" daws that didn't fricking work. I'll take functional vs miss america.

You do have a point, but to some of us looks matter too) I suppose it might sound shallow, but it's difficult not to consider this aspect of the DAW after one have had experience working with different DAWs prior to Studio One. Other then that Studio One is an excellent DAW.

Hey, I'm all for it. I'm all IN on improvements. I don't care for the blocky look in many regards and I used to think it was UGLY. Not sayin' you guys are wrong at all.

My top 3 wishes in no particular order:

1. Better waveforms
2. Different GUI themes
3. Better overall functionality (including better multi-monitor support)

Post

Maybe they'll get around to fixing the useless, broken MIDI clock that hasn't worked since version 1.

See this thread for more details if you're interested...

For me the number one improvement has to be automation, at the moment it is quite rudimentary in its implementation, particularly when it comes to curves (or lack of) and handling of control points.

Ah, forgot. Silly me. That is now number 1 or close second ;)

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
