There are currently about 5 threads moaning and whining about IK shit, in the instrument forum and here. We need a dedicated moaning-and-whining-about-IK-shit-subforum.

I have two serious complaints that I'd like to mention before I have a heart attack.

1) I work at -20db for broadcast. And anytime I go to their website I get that flash screen loading up and suddenly I am deafened by their music blasting away at full volume. Every time I see that screen I panic and scramble for the volume knob. This is just poor judgement on their part.

2) Please get rid of that damnable "Hiss" as copy protection. Silence is just as effective. Yes, yes, I know if you use the Custom Shop it won't do that. But I'm talking about when ARC decides to get in a bad mood and deregister itself. And I launch Cubase where Arc always sits on my Studio Mixer and "SHHHH" the Hiss nearly deafens me.

I don't know, I think IK just wants to see how many audio people it can freak out with its loud noises. I really, really don't like their practices.

I agree, it's not just IK but I really dislike that myself and as such I keep my laptop muted most of the time. But you said you are working at -20db so I assume you're talking about your DAW and yeah, that would aggravate me as well. It's another good reason to continue to always keep my DAW offline. Fortunately I am able to keep it that way.

Yeah this is another practice I dont care for, bursts of sounds do not help me demo something nor does silence. Both really distract me while trying something

Here's the thing: ANY press is GOOD press

None of the complaining, including my own, has stopped me from buying IKM plugs; and it will not, in the future. I buy their software because it works for me and sounds good. When and wherever it doesn't, I buy from someone else. I am willing to bet any amount of $ that this is true for nearly everyone here. That certainly does not invalidate the complaints we've seen--some of them are spot on, in fact. The truth is, all of the complaining just provides IKM with exposure (i.e. good press).
