Now some nice string orchestras from Miroslav Symphonic Orchestra should be playing to celebrate the peaceful situation before the next one comes with "Another IK thread has been deleted"...

I suspect IK can and does take criticism. Sometimes, it even listens to it. Consider the extension of the demo period from two days to a week, and the increase of activation counts from 5 to 10. Eventually, someone does seem to listen.
The problem is that by the time a customer criticizes something, it's already too late, because you've already frustrated that customer, and quite likely, more than that one customer. A developer should be thinking ahead how to make the customer experience as enjoyable as possible. I mean, does it really take a whole ton of forum threads to realize that 2 days isn't enough to fully evaluate the potential of a plugin? Or that trashing customers' plugin menus or amp selection menus with products they don't have is a one-way trip to frustration? Can it really be so hard to put yourselves in customers' place? Does it elude your PM that sound quality, modeling accuracy, and UI design can't salvage a user experience that's ruined before a customer even opens one of your plugins?

Hink,
Yeah -20db is my 0. So I always have my volume turned up much louder than other people who are just producing music. I'm staying away from any url with IK multimedia in it until I'm assured they've dumped that open screen. Geeze, it even pops up when I log out from my account. It freaks me out.

Anyhow, I'm sure most would agree....Peter takes a lot of heat on these forums and is very graceful under pressure. I really do appreciate his presence here.
I'll leave this alone now.

Yeah, and I say it everytime. Mostly (and by quite a large margin) I've had very good experiences with IK. I DO sometime not like what I see. I'm still looking forward to the next update (but probably not the next sampletank groupbuyyevster wrote:I suspect IK can and does take criticism. Sometimes, it even listens to it. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Well I did notice a couple of things where they did finally take heed of the feedback or blowback. I'm not sure, but since KVR is one place they get a lot of heat, I'm inclined to think getting a lot of heat here works to some extent.yevster wrote:I suspect IK can and does take criticism. KVR functions first of all to promote business, so there is a balance to be struck between serving the vendor and the end user here. I prefer the laissez-faire approach to times past where there was a lot of moderation drama rather than let conflicts play out. I think if it were my company I would not like the PR face locking his own threads, just out of how it looks and I think I want to know when people are unhappy. I'm not really of the right disposition to be in PR so I'm not judging a person.
I would have liked to embrace Amplitube 3, but it's not been a happy experience due to a long-time bug in VE Pro (which did get addressed after I pushed a bit. But I'm sure it introduced instability into templates.) which made it 100% unusable, and the offense of Custom Shop, which was a bit too fiddly here anyway, let alone the thing of it being a necessary component. I had to go look up how to make the things I'd been using for awhile to show up in it at all, and sure enough it meant going thru Custom Shop and we have to download a new version of that, that even works. I have no interest in it. This is not normal. Guitar Rig scans the folders in the new start and imports the things, there is no complication. (The reason for this complication is that the development is too driven by the marketing department, that couldn't be more clear. I think they could hear this eventually if they're really hammered for it. But maybe the bean counters believe this shit really works.)
So I, with a pretty goodly amount of purchases, having fully embraced AT2, don't even have AT3 installed here. It was a shit cascade for me. I'm actually fairly patient about music software, I'm not shocked to have troubles and I troubleshoot well enough. But this was a hugely negative experience and I think the notion that the whole exercise, compounded by ads popping up, insults the intelligence of the user is not difficult to see. Maybe the majority is not like me and having a browser inside a plugin is cool, maybe the majority is not insulted by it.
But it's a way of life thing for me, I need to have a respect I've lost in order to continue buying.

Whenever i post any negative (yes negative comment, not insult or something) comment here or at gearslutz it goes deleted - no question asked, no warning sent. Just poof. Especially on gearslutz. Interestingly when i post something positive it won't be deleted.miden wrote:I refer to this thread:

The minute folks post legitimate complaints IK lock threads. Now the last post said it was locked by the OP, which is the SAME thing as the OP is an employee/representative of IK...
SO in reference to that thread, I create this one for folks to keep posting genuine complaints and issues, without the threat of big brother IK stepping in....
I am actually VERY surprised this thread was not deleted as well. I guess only reason for that is that KVR moderator was to slow and a lot of people jumped in so now it wouldn't be appropriate to delete this thread - to avoid public witch hunt.
Well...i like IK EQ, but their behavior is so unfair that i won't ever buy their product via their funny virtual value..(jampoints..haha)

That's an interesting point. I actually don't see a ton of things being deleted here (though it just happened to me recently, SOMEONE was using the report button!
)
It's like sport news. If they "tweet" something that the power that be like, then they roll with it. If it's not, then you are a twitter troll. Of course they never need to worry about reporting what they don't want, because it's rigged that way

You just don't understand it, mods don't simply delete an IK thread:

That's why most people cannot remember it.

Loving some of the conspiracy theories. Keep 'em coming.
There are more "behind the scenes" reasons that anti-IK threads would remain than that they should be deleted in my opinion, and I see threads moved but haven't seen deletions so maybe I just don't get to see the OP in those cases? Our behavior here or Gearslutz is not unfair because we have no control over things like people seem to be assuming. On GS, they actually clean up new product announcements for all companies not just us without any interaction on the part of the company. That is the effort to keep it on-topic and they have a Moan Zone but I rarely see anybody who feels strongly enough to move their gripes over to the forum created specifically for such gripes.
I think the real reason for people not remembering things is because they aren't as sinister as they think, and in many cases threads are moved not deleted.
I *wish* we had the power many assume we have! That would be pretty cool, really.

Ahh but you do have the power to lock threads...which is what happened to another thread eg: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 6&t=410919
And you may produce some sort of "spin" to explain why, but it was still locked by the OP (err..you, or more precisely IK (imo) as you do represent them)

Which was explained already, clearly. It was a second iRing thread, that one was locked, the other was left open ready for the complaints. Not much of a conspiracy theory when put that way, and when one points out that any user can lock their own threads. Sorry that this very little thing upset you so, I recommend you complain in the thread that remains open.miden wrote:Ahh but you do have the power to lock threads...which is what happened to another thread eg: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 6&t=410919
There's also a report button on threads, and direct contact via PM if you have issues with what I do (which I've used to explain something directly to you recently and I hope it helped). I'm fine if you'd like to demonize me, but you may want to use more damning "evidence" to do so.

Yes i am sure he does. But aren't he the same person alerting KVR modz to delete some replies? I would say most of the time yes!SimSam wrote:

No need to add even more irony and cynicism to thisPeter - IK Multimedia wrote:Loving some of the conspiracy theories. Keep 'em coming.![]()
I am guessing that noone other than you is reading IK threads here at KVR therefore i can only guess that in 4 out of 5 deleted replies (not the threads) - it's because of your reports.
I am going to ask you direct question? Are you not finding it a bit weird that lately several people here and on gearslutz reported deleted and missing threads on gearslutz, kvr and ik own fourm?
Something which i see only on rare occasions and random drop outs. But in last three or four months i am seeing this pattern really often. Usually people coming from your own forum as a sort of refugee - reporting that someone deleted negative threads. Well since they are deleted and since even these reports are being deleted i can claim a pink elephant in the sky - but i can tell you right away i did not see this behavior in such time frame from any other company.
Oh but maybe there is group of 15 people, each one promised to register and (false) report shady IK activity, just to put IK name down...yes sure that could be a case here (if we are going to build stupid theories then here is a first one)
