Waldorf Largo + PPG Wave 3.V + Waldorf Edition: 64-bit/VST3/AAX updates

In all seriousness I'd like to see an update beyond the Largo 64bit update.
I have no doubts that the update will be free, this idea is just ridiculous.
However I'd gladly pay for a serious update which will hopefully recoup Waldorfs time and energy, but please;
Implement user feedback, address the stability, fix the known issues, redesign the Preset Manager, add more Filters, Multiple Segment Envelope Generators (MSEG), improve the tiny Arp, add more modulation options to the Matrix (I have several suggestions) A revised GUI designed by Alex Hartmann... I welcome your thoughts!

if Waldorf in the current updates would add eveything you (and others) mention this will maybe will take ages and it is already quite long as it is at the moment. There are already enough issues that were/are based on the 64-bit update or new formats like VST3 or AAX.Everglide wrote:In all seriousness I'd like to see an update beyond the Largo 64bit update.

Of course both the developer and the testers try to address all bugs that are found including old ones. There even seemed to be older bugs that were unkown so far and are solved now.
Further updates to e.g. Largo could be maybe done when it is posiible to focus on a single synth but at the moment this would lead to having a mess.

Yes, the name is really cool (and also funny...) indeed.Halma wrote:Ingonator wrote: ... Streichfett String synth...Now that´s a really cool name. Nice play on words.

For those who have not noticed yet (based on the thread in the hardware section):
Streichfett is fully DSP based so it is a digital synth. On the other hand it sounds great IMO (based on what i had tested at the Musikmesse) and the sound should be further improved until official release. With a price of around 249€ incl. VAT (current price at Thomann) it is quite cheap for a hardware synth.
A fully analog and high quality Ensemble FX (BBD Chorus) most likely would be already as big as the whole Streichfett synth and quite sure already more expensive than the whole synth.

That depends... If done discretely, maybe, but if done within a chip (which is not impossible at all), it wouldn't be much more to add to Streichfett's PCB I assume.Ingonator wrote:A fully analog and high quality Ensemble FX (BBD Chorus) most likely would be already as big as the whole Streichfett synth and quite sure already more expensive than the whole synth.

The current Windows installer for Largo, PPG Wave 3.V and Waldorf Edition (includes PPG Wave 2.V, Attack and D-Pole) includes those formats which could be selected in the installer:
- VST2 32-bit
- VST2 64-bit
- VST3 32-bit
- VST3 64-bit
- AAX for Pro Tools 10
- AAX for Pro Tools 11
For Largo and PPG Wave 3.V there are multiple deinstallers for each format. Waldorf Edition has one deinstaller.
additionally for Mac:
- AU 32-bit
- AU 64-bit

Basically yes but the fact that all plugin versions (for all 3 products and for both Windows and Mac) do exist now does not mean that all of them are already bug free.fup4000 wrote:So does this mean it's ready? (64bit) for Mac?

The real question is: have Waldorf actually released 64-bit versions of their plugins yet?

Next time I see this thread pop up, I hope the answer is YES!

Actually Waldorf Edition was available as 64-bit since end of 2011 but you had to contact support to get the installer.ZenPunkHippy wrote:The real question is: have Waldorf actually released 64-bit versions of their plugins yet?

Lector was available as 64-bit (and also VST3) from the beginning.
The point is that the current updates are more than just 64-bit updates for VST and AU as you hopefully could see (VST3 and AAX are new, also for Waldorf Edition).
