I did that once and it automatically subscribed me to future editions (not free) and I had to go into my account to cancel them.

Ah, an even easier way to get people to unwittingly buy magazine subscriptions. This is the same kind of near scam that magazines have done forever. Offer free issues, go to automatic payment after the customer forgets he/she has to actively intervene to avoid paying beyond the free issue.
