Ugh. As mentioned above by the OP, I have purchased many things from Audiodeluxe over the years with zero problems, and have an account with them. When you click the big button that says "Add to Cart for Your Price", you get the lower number I mentioned.
My other reason for possibly purchasing from AD is that I have a credit with them.
Finally, Modartt confirmed (on a Sunday evening!) that the AD upgrade would work for Play 3 to Standard 5

Sure I could use this, but but but how on earth am I going to download it? The basic app is about 40MB. Which will take me over an hour to download. I didn't find info about the size of the packs. Not going to download GBs. There should be a government law which at least forces them to sell box versions. Although I am wasn't planning to conquer the world before producing something. Oh well...

You don't need to download the packs separately. When you first run the app, it asks you which pack you want. Any additionally purchased packs you just enter the serial numbers and everything's good to go.
While I'm sorry it will take you so long to download a 40 MB file, I think you're likely in the minority as far as people that might consider purchasing the product in that you don't have a high speed internet connection. The actual size of the folder is 35 MB, not counting the VST2 dlls, not GBs.
If the product looks like you could use it, you won't have to do more than download the 40 MB file.

There are no GBs to download: All instruments except the downloadable freebies are contained in the main installer and all are instantly available in demo mode. When you purchase additional packs, all you have to do is register an additional product code on you pianoteq account and then update the license in your pianoteq installation to activate the full product. Rather nifty system.Dazed Veins wrote:Sure I could use this, but but but how on earth am I going to download it? The basic app is about 40MB. Which will take me over an hour to download. And, almost all freebies are contained in the downloadable KiViR pack which is only 11.4 MB! That's physical modelling for you...

The Bluthner was always my favourite in Pianoteq 4, but in Pianoteq 5 it is further improved - especially above middle c. All the models seem to have more presence and detail, but also a more natural and 'woody' sound. It was always the most playable piano plug in, now it really starting to give the massive sample libraries real competition for sound too.

Yes. It is one of the things that the people who are used to purchase sampled instruments (with dozens of gigabytes) can't imagine...
The physically modelled instruments have generally a far better quality (because a sound really alive among other qualities)... with simply a very small size of just a few dozens of megabytes. It means: a quality far better for a size downto a thousand times less!

Ok thanks. I had to read the comments twice. I am going to take a look at it. I could always ask someone with a faster connection, though I'd rather go for the character of a sound than its promised "authenticity".

I keep meaning to get this but haven't yet - wish they had sales on addons. Out of all the piano models I find it has the fullest sound but also softer when needed.adydub wrote:The Bluthner was always my favourite in Pianoteq 4, but in Pianoteq 5 it is further improved - especially above middle c. Dude it takes you an hour to download 40MB? How do you at all surf the Web? The KVR webpage is 1MB with all the ads I guess, so to view this page takes you one and a half minute?Dazed Veins wrote:Sure I could use this, but but but how on earth am I going to download it? They had a 20% off sale in January on all add-ons. I'm now on the hunt for their next one.aMUSEd wrote:I keep meaning to get this but haven't yet - wish they had sales on addons. Out of all the piano models I find it has the fullest sound but also softer when needed.

An hour from Holland?

It took me 3mn ½ here in France... And my connection is considered rather average by the speedmeters!
You have the ADSL? The cable? A prehistorical 56K modem?
Without joke I think there is a problem with your connection...
