Ya,
I know what and why to dither

I haven't been mixing down tunes much in the last year and I was finally getting around to it in SX-2.

I use to insert the UV22 in Cubase VST and see it is still present in SX-2.

When I go to export audio, I have a choice of 16 bit wav. Now isn't that an audiomatic dither?

I figure I need to insert the UV22 on the main insert and then chosose the export 16 bit wav as well (for a CD), but why?

It the 16-bit export not really dithering?

Is the UV22 considered a good dither, or are there better (voxengo elephant?)

yes you have to dither with a plugin. wav-export doesn't dither automaticly ...

You only dither down from a higher bit depth, so from 24 to 16 bit. If you're already at 16, you don't need to dither. ;)

I usually mixdown in 24bit, then dither to 16bit after any post-production processing. Dont ask me why, but im sure this method has benefits over dithering during mixdown. But please dont quote me on that! :D
