Hello!
A new beta version is uploaded with the following features:

• The scale, tempo and signature properties are displayed on the master track and are editable with a single click
• It is possible to set the initial length of the inserted phrase generators
• New phrase variation: 'Spread Out Chord Notes' to make a fuller sound from any phrase
• 4 new schemes are added to the Chord Generator to spread out chord notes in octaves
• Bug fix: MIDI export and MIDI drag and drop from the VST plug-in to the host did not work well

If you want to hear something nice, make sure you (especially yellukhan ) add 'Spread Out Chord Notes' to a FingerPicking generator...
Also please let me know if the master track extension is useful, or what do you need to make it more usable.

Fantastic Features Attila!

The scale/tempo/signature properties is really great and fits well on the Master Track!
Now I can easily see information without going into the Master Track dialogue. Perfect

I love the addition of setting phrase length! I almost overlooked it in the Phrases Browser Glad I found that one! Just happened to see it there and I'm like....hmmmmm - click....WOW!
Works very well

The "Spread Out Notes" is G-R-E-A-T!! This one adds a new meaning to the compostions. A lot of fun by itself or added to other variators. NEAT!

Thanks for the new beta version, but I'm disappointed!

1.Dragging a MIDI file in Digital Performer still not functioning properly ! Time signature work well! As I need 4/4 and not as 245/1 as it was before... Already well , but my midi file is dragged not the first bar (as I want) and dragged to the position 43.3.1 (as well as sending you my video) And more ... Midi file is not installed in the DP grid, it is not possible to align the grid DP!
This applies to all of this of course only the VST plugin ...
I hope that It Can Be Fixed !

Would be nice to have a .... 'Feature Extraction Generator' (for melodic tracks)

Could be very interesting and powerful to be able to submit a MIDI file ( or even 'multiple' MIDI files ) whereby the objective would be to extract (analyze) melody tracks with the objective of gathering the essence of the contour or, features, of melodic movements.
(1) Simply count (compute) the number of each 2 note melody intervals (either up or down ) , and include each time duration of the interval ( i.e., a 3rd up for one beat ... a 5th down for 3 beats, ... etc ... ) ( relative notes.. not absolute, obviously ) ...
(1b) add up each entry, . . combine/group the similar entries, .. find the normalized percent of each distribution unit, and when generating a feature dependent new melody, just generate some random number which addresses and locates whichever element group has the closest total percentage count . . .( i.e., random number generated is 0.79 . . . which points to the bin which holds the count of ( 0.79) = yields an upward interval if a minor third, and for a duration of one quarter note ) .... in other words, the extracted-cloned melody is assembled (constructed ) by unique single cell/key/elements, ONE at a time, and then linked linearly together
(2) One could also add (extract) additional melodies from the same composer (or different composers !!! ) if your objective is to merge, 'BLEND' characteristics of various melodic features. (either by same composer, by style, by idiom ...
(3) One could then use this 'Feature Extraction Generator' to generate (produce from already recompiled MIDI melodies, and counts ) 'new' melodic lines which are in essence blended contours of elements from either the same composer, ... or even a different composer . . . . .

Resulting in a melody being generated, which links together key elements, prominent cells, most frequent applied melodic 'features' ... the melody is new, . . . the result is idiomatically characteristic , but it is NOT 'foreign' nor 'unrelated' ...

I don't want to disappoint anyone. Strangely when I tested it worked well, but now I found that a badly set program change message in the MIDI file confused DP8 totally. I fixed this bug today.
If you download the beta version again, it will work well. Sorry for the inconveniences.

Hi lulukom,

DP initialized the plug-in and restored its state in the wrong order. The RC plug-in works well in all other DAWs. I inserted a workaround so that it works with DP. Please re-download the Mac LE beta version. Hopefully it will work better.
I am thinking of making a bridge plug-in between the DAW and the RC application. I don't like the way it currently works.

A recent feature request from another thread:

I've seen your time table but I'd like to humbly ask for the midi drum track to be bumped forward, just a basic grid to lay down some drums. For now I just have some drumless compositions. Dragging in wav files as drum loops is not cutting it because they have to loop perfectly or they just skip like scratched vinyl. And there is no time stretching so then I have to settle for a tempo that's not close to what I'm feeling at the time. Then the loop might not be whats called for so then I gotta go search for a loop that fits my needs, I could go on and on so I'll just stop.
