V'ger - nice run you had as admin - thanks for the time spent answering questions, setting up the comps, and just being a kool cat ... oh yeah, enjoy the family life ...

Hey man..V'ger wrote:Note:
Just to announce I'm quitting as admin of One-Synth-Challenge and Bjporter will take over so direct all inquiries to him from now on.
It's been fun and satisfying to see both the competition and people grow here, but as I don't enter anymore and have growing family obligations and an able admin replacement it's as good time as any to bow out.
Big thanks to KVR (Ben) for letting us have prime position with stickies in the main forum for all these years, I hope it can continue.![]()
Cheers all!

Thanks V'ger, haven't been with OSC very long but I enjoyed what you did in this community, being reasonable, kind and helpful. Good luck.

I'm sorry to see you go, V'ger, but certainly understand. You've been an awesome organizer and admin since before I first joined the OSC. You've kept the OSC going and coordinated some really big contests over the years (CM special!). The OSC has been made into a great community in no small part due to your efforts and involvement in it.V'ger wrote:... I'm quitting as admin of One-Synth-Challenge ...
Like any transitionary periods in life, when you think of what you've done, what you've contributed, what you've left behind... if you can say you left something better than when you began, it's a sure sign of success. I can say with certainty that you've left the OSC significantly better than when you started. And I thank you for all you've done for me both OSC related and not - sometimes small things go long ways.
I also wish the best for you and your family, but do hope that you find the time to stop by every now and then (and even make a track or two!!! I am a V'ger fanboi at heart

V-ger. Although I've not been around here long I can appreciate the hard efforts you have put in over the years, and sorry to see you go. I still hope you will be able to submit a new track some time, and wish you all the best for the futureV'ger wrote:Note:

BJP, I am pleased the OSC remains in good hands, best wishes, and I hope the extra workload does not deprive us of more of your classsic entries!

Hey V'ger, I haven't been here in a while but wanted to wish you the best with your family. I am so grateful for all the effort you put into making this challenge such a great place for expression, learning, growth, and so much more.V'ger wrote:Note:

Some crazy life twists and turns made me unable to participate for the past year (health emergencies and graduate school), but I have peeked in from time to time and am so happy to see the OSC still going strong. I miss this great community and all the awesome people here, and have been looking forward to returning when I am able. So glad to know that Bjporter will be keeping it going. I can't imagine anyone better.
Thank you V'ger for all you have done for OSC!
Love and miss you all!

So, we've had our first OSC with Brian at the helm and he's done a great job keeping things moving! Even though V'ger won't be soon forgotten, we can keep on living, and resurrect this thread. Long live the OSC!
I'm interested in making a tutorial video / screencast on something percussion related. I'm a noob at screencasting, so any suggestions would be welcome for what software to use - preferably free suggestions to record and then do some minor post-processing (e.g. cut sections, add text, arrows etc). I'll have access to Winblows and Mac (and, of course Linux, but...).
So, would anyone be interested in this? If so, what would you all want to see first?
